Hack Request for Tasks list

I use the Tasks list primarily for alarm reminders that I don't want listed in my datebook (i.e., pick up drycleaning). Every time I want to set an alarm, the default is for 5 days before the due date. I always have to change the 5 to 0.

Does anybody out there with mad programming skilz have any ideas how to change that default? Maybe as a preferences panel? It's admittedly a trivial thing, but it bugs me to no end!

dont believe there is anyway to perform that task,,, your only bet is to get another 3rd party program to handle tasks in which gives u more features and customization

There are a few freeware apps out there for which you can set alarms. Recently, there has been some interest in Watchmaker and Belltime - http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138357&page=1&pp=15. Would one of these work for you? I am going to demo them this week.

I'm aware that I can set alarms using other apps (I use the Notepad application for that purpose too) but I really would like to keep the Tasks list for this purpose since it shows up in other places (like the agenda view of the calendar).
