Every so often, like I'm sure other developers do, I created small little hidden applications to do specialized tasks. The small programs, at least for me, have no UI, and only really do one or two things, but overall help improve my PalmOS experience.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share some of my favourite with you guys here at 1src:

BlazerRedirect
http://www.1src.com/freeware/fileinfo.php?id=1794
Installing this will redirect all attempts to launch Blazer to NetFront.

For example, if I click a link in Versamail that would normally open it in Blazer, with BlazerRedirect, it'll be redirected to open the link in NetFront.

In addition, BlazerRedirect will hide Blazer from the launcher itself. Perfect for the Netfront user who wants to forget about Blazer
PalmFindDIA
http://www.1src.com/freeware/fileinfo.php?id=1793
This program simply changes all attempts to call the "Find" pop-up and instead with toggle the DIA up/down.

This is useful with various keyboards that have find button shortcuts. With PalmFindDIA, those find buttons will now be useful and toggle the DIA
TreoFindCMD
http://www.1src.com/freeware/fileinfo.php?id=1792
It basically changes attempts to call the "Find" pop-up and instead brings up the commandbar. This is useful for those Treos that have no direct access to the commandbar.

Compatible with: Treo 600, Treo 650, Treo 680, Treo 700p, Treo 755p, Centro, and something that one dev site refers to as the Treo 500p (though most likely it's just the device ID of the upcoming GSM Centro)
AutoOffCMD
http://www.1src.com/freeware/fileinfo.php?id=1790
A simple commandbar button that can enable and disable the system auto-off feature
KeyboardCMD
http://www.1src.com/freeware/fileinfo.php?id=1791
A simple commandbar button that brings you to the Palm Universal Wireless Keyboard's drivers (basically just for quicker access to the keyboard drivers application)
Feedback is welcome :)

Would be cool to have BlazerRedirect also working with OperaMini or the browser of choice (maybe by drop-down menu or so).

Good Work

I'm not sure if OperaMini can even handle opening links from other applications. As I said in my first post, these are simply mini-applications that I made for myself a while ago that I thought would be nice to share. I really have no intention on expanding it into full program with options, a UI, etc. That being said, however, if you can tell me which specific browser you would like Blazer to redirect to, I could easily make a custom version for ya.

How Treofindcmd works?
Blazerredirect too?

Cannot find these in launcher & still get the find dialog

thank you
As I stated in the original post, there is no UI for these programs and thus they will not appear in the launcher.

BlazerRedirect does not directly do anything. It just recieves launch commands (from other programs that want to open URLs or programs that just want to open Blazer) and instead redirects them to NetFront. You won't ever really notice BlazerRedirect on you Palm, as once it's hotsynced, it takes the name of "Blazer", thus overiding the Blazer we have in our ROM.

Note: Please be sure you have NetFront on your device before using BlazerRedirect

TreoFindCMD works on Treos (and the Centro) only and, once installed, should bring up the commandbar whenever you press the find button. If for some reason it's not working, try a quick softreset and try again. If it's still not working, then please email me at robitaille88 [at] gmail [dot] com

FYI, I should add that each of the mini-apps, with the exception of BlazerRedirect, need to be added to UnCache (if you use UnCache) or they will not function.

is this true also for KeyboardCMD? i don't have UnCache and it still works, although i'm not sure i'll keep it as until now i just "accessorized "the keyboard app and it has been a good solution.
thanks for sharing your apps!

If you don't have UnCache, then don't worry, it'll work flawlessly. I was just pointing out that if you did in fact use Uncache, you would need to add it to the reset list. As you don't have Uncache, you don't need to worry about that

OperaMini can't handle requests from other applications to open links. It is a Java Midlet, not a native Palm program.

Well, someone else has pointed out that Opera Mini unfortunately can't handle such requests... How about Xiino (http://mytreo.net/downloads/xiino,256.html) ?

Thanks!

Hi:

Thanks so much! As a Grafiti One holdout, I can't really use Blazer. Your app will really come in handy.

Thanks,

Tom
