I don't normaly use blazer, so I didn't notice this problem until recently. An app I've been testing tried to start blazer and when it does it causes a reset. To see what was happening I tried starting blazer and the device froze. I reset and tried again - same result. I disabled uncache and tried again - same result. I did a hard reset and it worked perfectly. I restored from NVBackup set everything but the blazer files (files beginning with the word Blazer) and I was back at the freezing screens when I attempted to start Blazer.
The way the device acts is as follows, when I tap on the web (blazer) icon it blanks the screen then the DIA pops up and then it freezes. When it worked after the hard reset, the DIA popped up then went down then blazer started.
On a warm reset blazer works also. I've set skinui to totally unload when blazer starts. Normally I use universe and it works fine.
Anyone have any ideas about this? Is there a file I restored that I shouldn't have? The warm reset seems to work, so what background app is affecting this?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I've had a similar thing happen to me over the past 6 months, except Blazer will only freeze on launch if wifi is connnected. And on only about 50% of the time at that. I haven't been able to figure out what causes it though :(

Sorry to hear you are also afflicted with blazeritis   I've had this problem off and on for about 8 months now. My blazer will stop working for a period of time and then miraculously start again. I would like to just take blazer off my device completely and use universe, but somethings download easier in blazer than in anything else. And as I stated some apps instead of looking for the default browser, are hard coded for blazer.

My DIA does not pop up then down, Blazer simply launches with the DIA in the position it was in when I last exited.
I have 'FixDIA' (FastDIA?) by Dimitry installed if that makes a difference.
.
If you can get into Blazer try changing your setting to:
Menu>Options>Preferences>Page> StartWith:BlankPage
This will only launch Blazer and nothing else so you will at least know if it is just a Blazer launch problem.
As a side test, if you have Resco Explorer does this happen when you try to read a .html UserManual with Blazer?

I have fastdia also. I'll try the blank page option - I can get into blazer after a warm reset. I'm not sure I have a html manual to try that with, but I'll look around.
Thanks
EDIT: When I did a warm reset to access blazer, I noticed that the DIA didn't go up. I did set the page to blank page, but this did no good as after a reset blazer still freezes with a blank screen and the DIA up. Here is a photo I took of the screen - I couldn't take a screen capture because the device was frozen.

Sorry, I misunderstood.
When you said blank screen I thought you meant Blazer was loading then getting frozen.
I have never seen or read of a Blazer problem like this image shows.
I don't have an answer for this and can only suggest the standard Hard Reset and gradually reinstall apps to find the culprit. Good luck :)
PS: myKbd zip has a html User Manual that is read by Web (Blazer) in RE

I was afraid someone was going to say that. I've done hard resets before, but I usually use my NVBackup set to restore the device. A gradual restore is what I've been dreading. I might do without blazer if I have to resort to this. IMO, this is the kind of problem that the new tool from TealPoint, TealScan, should address. I don't see why some tool can't scan for programs that have conflicts - like conflict catcher did on the MAC.

I have the same problem as well, although it happens much more rarely. No idea what casues it...

Not totally off topic, but I did a Hard Reset to test whether blazer was working (it was as noted earlier) and as a result when I restored (did a partial restore to see if I could get blazer working if I didn't restore the blazer files) with NVB I had 2 versions of D2G, the original version 7.x and the one I upgraded to 10.x. I had moved the programs to the card using the move to card function in the manage programs menu item in the documents program. At first I was in a quandry as to how to resolve this. Finally I stated up the documents app and tapped moved to device from the manage applications selection area. It prompted whether I wanted to overwrite the current files and I tapped okay. I then moved them back to the card.
Just an FYI for future users who do a hard reset when they already have a newer version of D2G on their device. :)
