wow, that's really cool. Much cooler than anything anyone did in the same thread on the NX board.

That was uncalled for...

Anyway, I think the coolest thing is watching movies on it. Most people don't know how to accomplish this around here.

I also keep all my work notes on me; not really cool, but when everyone else carries 4 or 5 small books around, all I have to carry is my TG.

And for fun...I work in a hospital and I find it fun to stand outside a patient's room and change the channels on him. Hehehe.

It's a bit silly but I think it's very cool to doodle-paint with the photo-editor during boring meetings and long waits...

Anyone else with that strange hobby? We might setup a Clie-doodle museum somewhere...

Yeah, watching videos is neat. I also like having the scroll-wheel and remote control features.

Well I took a razor, widened the card slot mouth, attached pieces of plastic to sd cards (so I could insert and remove the card), and now I am using 512MB sd cards...

Playing MP3s and playing a game at the same time while sitting next to joe-schmoe with a plain mp3 player :D

TG-50 is heaven sent for SMS users like me. I use it with my Sony Ericsson T-68i via bluetooth and receiving SMS and typing/sending SMS on the TG-50's thumboard is a breeze!

Oh yeah, was able to figure out how to make my own movie clips and transfer them on the TG-50. Blew me away!

- First, I totally agree with rTenshi! Once I was listening to my jazz, reading ebook, and next to me was a guy using S300 while listening to his MP3 player! :D
BTW, I also own the legacy S300. :P

- BT hotsync is cool! Meanwhile still struggle to connect to internet thru my PC's BT dongle. :(

- Haven't tried BT-enabled mobile..so no idea how cool it wud be...but I use SMS a lot. Will buy the upcoming Sony Erricson T610, it's BT built in.

- Video and Flash player are cool.

- However limited remaining RAM is not cool at all! :(

Kusumo,

If you're using XP, make sure you go into control panel/network connection, then right click on your network and select properties and make sure that sharing is allowed. May fix your web surfing problems.

bt internet with connection sharing on my lan was a nightmare, never got it to work out... finally gave in and tried Mochasoft ppp (see other threads) and setup bt internet within minutes. So reading all the cliesourse tips on the potty place is kinda nice.

Did you try the instructions listed here?

I love the BT (surfing, email, sms, hotsync), mp3s and video stuff of my TG50...

Sending Text Messages and checking mail whilst in boring meetings is a must. One day my technophobe colleagues will work out what the blue light is!

Hah, but the killing app for GPRS is chatting (like it or not). With my t68i and BT/GPRS I can chat for hours for next to nothing.

The secret is that traffic is charged by MB and not per minute. You can use upIRC to stay connected to people while you're in a boring meeting without anyone noticing. I bet I can chat all day for a Euro (1 Euro = 1.14 USD)...

I'm looking for a sticker to cover up the blue light ;-)

Coolest thing:

Surfing web via BT from my mac desktop at the office.

Watching an officemate's new T|C lock up (fatal exception) trying to show me up with his 802.11 connection.....

:o

Impress your PDA-illiterate friends (you know, the knuckleheads that find so much pleasure in teasing you about your PDA):

One of the sales reps I work with (an incessant teaser) spent several minutes in a customer's lobby navagating the menus of his ancient, hoagie-sized cell phone before realizing he hadn't saved the number he wished to call. Sensing his angst, I opened my Clie and found the contact. With his thumb perched on his phone's keypad, he waited for me to read him the number. Instead, I tapped the contacts name and dialed my T68i via bluetooth. With a satisfying smirk, I casually handed him the phone, and said "It's ringing..."

He looked at me in astonishment, put the phone to his ear in disbelief and explained to the customer that we were in the lobby. As he ended the call, he looked curiously at the phone and said "That was too f*cking cool, can you do it again?" I took the phone slowly and answered "Anytime I want."

Needless to say, he hasn't teased me once since using my "magical" phone.

I am asking like Ezikial Anta, can you use wireless AIM if you get connected?

yeah, I AIM over BT... pretty cool and a lot faster than the T-Mobile SMS-based offering.

Coolest thing I've done is use Voice memo at work or play. Then, go home and use MS Import so I can play my voice memos, directly from the clie memory stick, on the PC speakers. Then save and rename the important ones to my PC.

Also, I sync folders on my work PC with folders on my home PC using the clie as a removable drive. Second Copy is the PC sync software I use. It's sooooo simple.

God, I love the TG-50 :)

Yeah, I'm waiting for someone to create a little app that would flash the BT light in sync with music :D

I've been using it to play mp3's in the car via a cassette adapter, games, Using Quick office 7 to have all my office docs close at hand, more games, digital photo album, and more games!

As soon as Supplynet makes the cable for my cell phone (7/21 so they say) I'll be a web surfing fool.

BTW, anyone know if there is an FM radio adapter like the one for iPods called iTrip that will work with the TG50?

Gotta be the coolest PDA I've owned, not too much to complain about yet

Has anyone tried using some from of voice dictation software to convert your voice recorder data back into text? That would be cool, won't it? I don't have a TG-50 yet.. but I likely will in a few hours.

Downloading Cnet Radio Direct as an MP3 file and listening to it when I drive so I don't have to put up with irritating DJs.

I'm still waiting for an Audible.com client that will work on a Sony.

I record TV shows with my TV capture card, edit out the commercials, reformat to a TG50 friendly size and format and watch TV on my TG50. I can fit 2 30 minute shows on a 128 card. People really trip out when they see you watching TV on a PDA.

My wife takes videos of our 9 month old daughter with her NX-70, and I take the videos everywhere I go on my TG-50. Best thing my TG-50 does is carry those videos around so I can see 'em whenever I want.

I control my SliMP3 MP3 player with upIRC via my SlimpBot (own invention). I can move forward and backward in my playlists, adjust the volume.

I recently added a 'lyrics' feature so I can request the lyrics from any song that's playing wirelessly while lying on my couch with my TG50.

The lyrics are automatically fetched from sing365.

Admittedly the only TG50 specific things in this setup are upIRC and BT/GPRS.

But I think it's kinda cool anyway...

X.

Is there a VNC client for TG50? it would be pretty cool to be able to remote control your PC with it.

Has anyone used a bluetooth GPS receiver with TG50 and used it as a navigation system?

I go between my SONY minidv and the clie with memory sticks. Lets me view all that was captured(moving and still) on the dv and view it on the clie without having to go through the pc.
