As my NX70V gets older I'm noticing that the hinge for the clamshell is becoming more and more "stiff". I assume that dust and debris are making their way into the hinge and stiffening things up. Mine now makes a slight "groaning" sound when closing as it encounters this resistance. Anyone have ideas about lubricating (ie: graphite) or cleaning this hinge so that it operates smoothly once again.

While you are at it with suggestions. As I get older, I groan more and am stiff too. :(

My NR70 is that way, not sure what to do about it. Oil is a definite no-no, graphite might be okay.

BTW, I am 52 going on 90, so tell me about the groaning... :D

I know I this has been covered in a thread before, but I can't find it. I BELIEVE the person used a very thin piece of string, dropped a TINY amount of oil on it, and "flossed" the hinge...

Good luck!

How about trying some "canned air" to clean out those crevices?
