In case you didn't know already: Palm will drop JVM downloads (http://blog.palm.com/palm/2008/01/last-chance-to.html)

They say they will "support it" but not allow more downloads or upgrades, so it's end of life for JVM, time to backup and start posting pirated copies around me guess.

What would be the rationale behind this? more focusing on Palm OS II so it might be released before 2032 or before duke nukem forever?, or simply another subtle way of telling us they really wish we'd all ditch palm and leave them alone?

Having just spent abotu $50 in software for my palm, being economically and logistically unable to buy a N810, and not having some of the programs I use or equivalents there yet, well I have no option. I'll have to continue to use my T|X as long as it works, as it is, without getting anything new for it ever anymore, and then when one day it becomes too outdated or it breaks, I'll have to go back to pen and paper. And wish daily that palm burns.

Sigh it hurts so much, of all the PDA and mobile OS PalmOS was the only one I can use and whitstand, the only well designed one in my criteria, and now it's not only slowly dying but it seems the company is doing everything possible to crash and burn.....

i am sure your neighborhood anonymous host will always have a copy of the JVM,

a quick search on mininova reveals http://www.mininova.org/tor/1089526

a torrent and a rapidshare link is included....how convenient

Oh dmitry I know we'll always have the informal manner to procure things. The problem is that the shift from a formal support to an informal manner is a symptom of changes that worry and anger me. Not that it means it will become totally unfindable or unusable, which saddly I've experienced before, but is rare.
