Prevent Hotsync Backup

Is there any way to prevent hotsync from automatically backking up files?

Turn off the backup conduit in the hotsync manager.

Right-click the hotsync icon in the system tray, select Custom...., select Backup, click the Change... button, click Do Nothing radio button, click Set as Default checkbox.

I'm sorry, I don't see a backup option. Does it matter that it is the Sony Palm Desktop?

I don't know. It should be at the bottom of the list.

I also don't have "backup" in my conduit list and I use a Garmin version of desktop. Perhaps it's the "system" conduit? which in mine defaults to handheld overwrites desktop.

System is what the conduit was called on pre-Garnet devices.
