Does anyone know where I can find an application (Palm Tungsten C) that goes to my today screen rather than preferences after a reset. I tried Event Launcher v2.2 (freeware) but did not work for palm device. I have crash pro installed and would like for my TC to go directly (after reset) to Today screen rather than my preference. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I was just about to suggest Event Launcher. If that is not working there is always OnLaunch (shareware).

Another one to try is the freeware SoftReset by ranosoft.net

Another one to try is the freeware SoftReset by ranosoft.netBefore EventLauncher, I used this to return my device to my preferred launcher after a soft reset. It worked well. Worth a try for your issue too.

I don't quite understand why EventLauncher won't work for you. Something about the Tungsten C, I suppose.

OnLaunch does not work for me on my iQue. I'm trying to run Tealmaster after reset to reenable TealMagnify and it just won't work. SoftReset seems to work fine.

Hmmmm. I have OnLaunch left over from when I had my T|T, IIRC. I've had it for some time and the only reason I'm not using it now is because I'm using Event Launcher.

I would like to use EventLauncher, but it does not recognize 2day -- it does not show up in the list of apps. So, I am out of luck there..

Being a non-developer I don't get it, but that doesn't make sense to me why an app wouldn't display itself. 2day shows in at least some other apps that have app picklists. Hmm.. Has this been brought to TAKEphONE's attention?

I have not brought it to his attention, because I see this specific to Event Launcher only. Other app picklists do recognize 2day. I did bring it up to Luke's attention.

AHA! Something you just said clicked. In the Event Launcher lists the first item is blocked out. Most people don't notice it because the application is Quick Tour, but the bug exists everywhere. I'll get it fixed pronto ;)

montecristo:

I didn't quite understand. Are you having the same problem as vovka or is Event Launcher not operating at all for you?

I just downloaded NOP from Dmitry, renamed to 1NOP, and now EventLauncher sees 2day just fine!
I am trying it out, now..

I love my mom: EventLauncher is not working at all. I clicked on icon and nothing happens. I have tried reinstalling it twice/soft reset, didn't help. I downloaded the application from freewarepalm.com. And I am using Today by pocketcraft.

Adam: I will try SoftReset. Thanks for the suggestion. By the way Adam, you gave me an idea. I have TealLock- and I think I remember seeing that upon enter code- you can set it up where it will go straight to Today. Now I have to just figure out how to do that after it crashes and resets itself....

Cyberdude: I will also look into OnLaunch... one of my friends also suggested that one. Thanks for your suggestion.

Adam Helberg: Thanks! I downloaded SoftReset by Ranosoft and it did exactly what I was looking for. I can launch my launcher or any application after a reset. You the man!

I'd appreciate it if you would contact me via email to try to resolve this. If you'd rather not, that's ok :)

Hello Luke, EventLauncher is working for me but there is one issue. I use TealScript, and I have my EventLauncher set to launch TealMaster on reset. With TealScript enabled, after a reset TealMaster is launched as I want, then TealScript and then I'm taken to the stupid Preference screen.

Without TealScript enabled I'm taken to TealMaster and it stops. It seems TealScript is sending me back to Preferences. Is there any way to stay away from the Preferences screen?

Hmm,

I thought Event Launcher waited long enough to let apps do what they needed. I don't know what I could do to stop this, it's more of a TealScript problem. I'll take a look at TealScript anyway. Thanks for reporting this.

Luke, went on your website and downloaded event launcher. It came up with a error and a code to give to the developer upon trying to start the application. I sent it to your email.

Thanks,

Ah, it tries to set the DIA state, but your device doesn't have one. This will get fixed. Nonetheless, did the app launch correctly?

Thank you,
Luke

Hi Luke, What I would really like after a reset is to run my application (TealMaster) and restart TealScript, but at the end to get to the Applications screen (the launcher).

Yeah, if anything a custom "after-reset launcher" that after reset would run all the programs that dont work right till launched:

NoraPro: (for the CmdBar plugin)
SlovoED: (cmdbar plugin lookup tool)
RescoViewer: (for it to over-ride the associations asserted by "media")
RescoExplorer: (Over-ride some other associations)

there are more apps for sure

It would be cool if you could launch them all in succession so you dont have to manualy launch them after reset.

then you could also set a Dbcache flush tool to run before returning to you regular applications menu :D

Doesn't Junk Remover remove it as one of the default options for the TX?
If not, then another way is to go to default Applications launcher and use the Delete command: QuickTour will show up as one of the apps to be removed, I am pretty sure. I know I deleted it somehow without too much trouble..

Thanks Vovka1965,
Its just that I am not on a Tx, I'm on a treo 650, And the later version of JunkRemover was enabled to be used with non TXs, but with a script in a text file . . .

& on the 650, quicktour does not seem to show up anywhere.
