I got a refurbished Palm TX from Palm when my first TX went dead. The new(refurbished) one I got has issues with the audio jack. When I first got it and plugged in earphones I could only ear from the left side, but when I was applying pressure at the base of the earphones where they connect to the palm I could get the right one to work as well. But now it doesn't work anymore, no matter what I do I can only ear from the left earphone. And I've tried other earphones.....And I think its too late to return it to plam.
Anything I can do ? Can I replace the the audio jack easily. or get the left channel in the right earphone aswell, it wouldn't be stereo but for AudioBook its not so bad.
Let me know what you think!!
Thanks in advance for your help

Try applying compressed air to the female connector in the Palm. Sometimes lint and dirt are the culprit and can be easily fixed. Or rub a cotton swab with isopropilic alcohol (you'll need to take out some cotton or it won't get in).

Thank you Greek for the quick reply,
Just tried all that but still no luck...any other suggestions??
Any tests I could do to know what the problem is ?

You could also try another type of earphones, some have a thick plastic (or rubber cover) that don't allow the metal connector to go in as it should. Also, you can try gently inserting it and taking it out, this way, the inner contact may recover its form if that's the problem.

I'm having the same problem PascalVille. If all else fails, you can get bluetooth headphones. Hopefully you can fix the jack though.

What are you using to play audio? You may have the balance set to full left or right. You may need to set the balance to center. BTDT.

I've looked at the balance settings, I get the same problem with every app. I'm thinking I may have a loose connector or cable, cause before I could make it work by applying pressure to the case itself, I'll try to open the case to look at the jack, I'll let youi know what happens!

I thought my Palm was broken. I was only getting one side of audio using PTunes, so I must've tapped the balance slider without knowing it.

This happened to me a year back. The solder that's connecting the jack to the motherboard had fatigued. Simply re-solder the connections. It took 10 minutes to fix, including opening and re-assembling the TX.

Yes, I agree with olebl.
From my experience in other devices, it is frequent one of those solder go loose.
