I keep haivng this problem on and off and I can't seem to figure out what causes it. I have a 665, a 128 mb MS and I am running XP Pro on my computer.
My computer, even though it detects the MS as a removable drive, freezes when I double click on it. In order to unfreeze, the only thing that will work is to take my 665 out of its cradle and then, becasue the 665 is also frozen, I need to do a soft reset.
I am running Norton Antivirus and have my computer firewalled but I disable both before trying to use MS Import.
Also, sometimes it will open the removable drive, palm folder and MS Audio (when I am trying to transfer MP3s), but it will then freeze in the middle of dragging and dropping.
Sometimes, it works fine.
Right now, I can't seem to stop it from freezing -- It's frustrating.
Any suggestions.

First, if you haven't done so already, go here:
http://www.ita.sel.sony.com/bin/support/support.cgi?whichone=1&installfile=sysupdatepackt665c.txt&downloadfile=SYSUPDATEPACKT665C.PRC
and install this patch on your Clie. It supposedly addressed some MS access issues.
There are a couple of other unrelated patches you might want:

Back to the problem at hand: Is your cradle connected to a USB hub? If so, move it to a standard port on the PC. Some people have had issues with USB hubs screwing things up, and you might as well remove the variable from the mess.
Disable all hacks, if there are any. Don't worry about your PC's firewall, as that is only for networking, but keep Norton out of the picture.
If all above doesn't change the situation, you might need to take pretty drastic action on the PC. Only do the following if you have not found any other way to correct the situation.
Right click on the "My Computer" entry in the Start menu, or on the desktop if the icon is there, and choose "Properties..." When the dialog box appears, select the Hardware tab and click on the Device Manager button. At the bottom of the list of hardware should be an entry "Universal Serial Bus controllers". Open that section up and right click on each and every entry in the list and choose "uninstall" from the menu, until all entries are gone. Reboot the PC. When Windows comes back up, it will find the USB hardware again and search for the appropriate drivers and re-load them. Once that is finished, try a standard sync on the Clie and Windows should install the Clie USB device, and should mention something about a USB storage device being installed as well.
Try MS Import and cross your fingers...
I can't guarantee this will work, and as I said, do it as a last resort - like just before you're ready to re-install Windows to cure this. I will say, this did work for me when I couldn't get XP to recognize the cradle correctly, and it was my last resort at the time.

Hey Scotto,
I just bought my T665 recently and haven't applied those patches from the website as of yet...
I do get unreadable songs from MS Audio player , could it be the bit rate ?
Anyways , I will install both patches that you mention above .
Thanks ,
Johnny
