Memory Stick Readers and Clie SJ-33

I am trying to troubleshoot problems mounting the memory stick in a Clie SJ-33. I am using an iMac 350Mhz running OS 10.2 and Missing Sync 3.0.6. The only USB peripheral is an HP DeskJet printer. I have been troubleshooting this for a couple of weeks to no avail. The Clie syncs fine to Palm Desktop, but I haven't yet successfully mounted the memory stick on the desktop, and when I try, MS Import freezes and the Clie won't respond until it is unplugged from the computer.

As a last resort, I wondered about using a memory stick reader to transfer mp3s to the Clie rather than mounting the memory stick on the desktop. Has anyone had any experience with this? Does it work? Can you move the mp3s directly from iTunes to the memory stick using a reader? Or does the reader only send info from the memory stick into the computer? Any suggestions on brands that work well with Macs and the Clie?

Although I haven't had the problem you are reporting and I have basicly the same setup. Older iMac------>SJ33

Do you mean that you're using a memory stick reader? If so, what brand?
