Is there any way we can make it so the keyboard and status bar move to the top, and the App forms show on the bottom... Without fliping the screen upsidedown?

Alot of new apps for the palm are 320x320, and have special buttons on the bottom of the forms.

The Keyboard input causes you to constantly stretch and inch from the nav keys to hit them...

If this app was possible, you would only have to roll your thumb to hit screen buttons, and overall make "one-handed" use, easier :D

Maybe this can be implicated into MaxX or showbattery, or myskin where a specific stroke on the edge of the screen will toggle it. :D

What new apps are those? Are we going back to the days of tiny screens?? What is the advantage of owning a T|X, pray tell?

Since almost all the new apps are made for new treos, thus 320x320

Puting the app forms on the bottom will better mirror the key setup of treos. :D

Older apps that were made for 320x320 will also be easyer to nav in :D

Im just saying it will be cool to have that functionality, somthing that is toggleable like screen rotation.

I am not saying all apps should be 320x320  that defeats the purpose of having a TX.

Relativly New apps like Astraware Casino, vocabulary, hellfire, google maps, 2cool4U

Old apps like- Open, Bizcalc

If you hold your palm with one hand, with the thumb on the nav keys, your range of motion for the thumb is only the lower half of the screen...

see what I mean?

Having the keyboard at the borrom of the screen is the right place in my opinion. To have it across the top would require reaching across (up) the screen to get to the keyboard, which would block your view of the screen. That seems terribly awkward.

When editing and typing, of course it would be awkward.

But as far as moving around forms, Its easier witht eh keyboard on the top.

Though a toggle function is a must :D

It is pretty standard to put buttons on the bottom of the screen, old or new. I'll have to double check, but I call that to be a part of the user interface guide lines.

Attached: Example image, using datebook/calendar.

I don't see it working as well as you say. Toggle top to bottom would be needed.

I don't think this is useful at all really. I thinx Bike or Die is the only application I go into that i don't need the graffiti area, and that's 320x480 anyway, with no buttons.

I mean come on, that's a ton of work for something that IMHO wouldn't be used very often

Ideas are wonderful things. My profession deals with ideas or concepts of how to do something. Many ideas fall by the wayside every day when they are subjected to reality checks of one sort or another. Sometimes "thinking outside the box" is a good thing. Other times it's just a waste of time when an idea goes against the grain of tried and true ways of doing stuff.........

I have heard it said...
"Nothing ventured. Nothing gained." :)

I think it might be a nice idea to put the DIA/keyboard where you want (top/bottom, right/left). I see this as another way to customize (read personalize). Some may have thought getting the statbar out of the way was not needed too perhaps.

Just a thought.

I use MySkin (and IconFix) and love it. IF MySkin were to add such a keyboard, wonderful as long as it would be an option. It seems to me that the demand for such a keyboard would be rather tiny.

On some touch screens it would be good to rotate functions (places to touch frequently) to other spots so that the scratchings will be distributed to other places.

It will be a touch screen type saver. >v<+>v<
