Hi everyone,

I have a NZ90 and use a bluetooth USB adapter (APM Reseau: it's a french stuff that works with widcomm drivers).

It works fine with hotsync. But I can't use bluetooth for file transfer (MP3 files for the matter) using MS import. I can't also use the bluetooth transfer in Zlauncher file manager. It detects my laptop but it tells me that it can't transfer the files (from Clié to laptop).

Can anyone help me ? As a matter of fact, my aim is to transfer MP3 from my laptop to my Clié and to transfer docs from my Clié to my laptop. Is there a way to do that with MS import (maybe with a patch ?) ? Is there an app that can do that ? Is it possible to use hotsync in a special manner (or with a special app) so that it can transfer files that are neither .prc nor .pdb (MP3 for instance ...) ?

Thank you very much.

I was using a bluetooth USB adapter and couldn't get it to work either. I posted on the board and was told it is not possible.

Hi jwittman,

Thank you for your answer.
Don't you think it is rather strange that is not possible (at least theoritically, waiting for an adhoc software). The NZ90 receive big files through Hotsync connection, so why wouldn't it be able to receive big files whose extension is not prc or pdb. I don't mean hotsync could be able to transfer MP3 but that it is strange that there is no software or patch enabling such a software.

What are the precise reasonsfor this impossibility ? Does any programmer has an answer ?

Hotsync is so cool with bluetooth. It's sad a cable is needed when you want to transfer files too ...

I have been wondering the same thing. Sending files from the NZ90 to a computer using Bluetooth.

Its good to know an answer to this Question.

As for sending files from the computer to a NZ90 without doing a Hotsync> I can.

Bluetooth adapter> Belkin, the "shark fin"

has a program that will show you the USB device ( NZ90) you can open this device and then Open an Inbox and there you will see a business Card (v-Card) Once I see this I can Drag and drop files from my computer into this folder and they are transferred to my NZ90>

Once I file is transferred over> My Work Bench asks me if I want to receive the files and it accepts the file into a Folder on the MS stick called My Received Files.
Once the file is on the MS I have to rename it using ClieFiles and move it to the correct Directory ( i.e. MP3's got to MSAudio)

This sounds like a lot of steps but it's not and it works rather well. I just wish I could send to the PC via Bluetooth.

Just a thought, for Send files from the NZ90 to a PC... you could use EMAIL. Send the file as an attachment from the Nz90 to a PC.

Using a Bluetooth connection to the internet.

Like Snappermail.

Thank you for your infos jlbunting.

As a matter of fact, I don't have the app you are talking about. But, whatever, maybe there is another solution.

I've just been on eruwarestore.com, and, reading the FAQ, you can see:

"Can I HotSync MP3s and other files to the CF card?
Yes. See the manual for details on how to do this. "

I don't have the CF driver and I don't have its manual. What does the FAQ mean ? Is it possible to hotsync MP3s to the CF card with bluetooth ???

I will ask to the CF forum ...

The solution is ... in Hotsync !

Ayasin has answered to my question (see the post http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=195430#post195430).

Hotsync can be use for MP3 transfer ! You just have to select "All files" in the file types list of the Add function (see the post http://www.cliesource.com/forums/newreply.php?s=&action=newreply&threadid=13962)

I've tried it. It took a while for transferring a single 4 Mo MP3. But it worked ! And it automatically put the MP3 file in the MS Audio folder.

So ... bluetooth is definitely great (if you have time ...).
