Seems like everyone now wants to release a cool contact manager :)
I will join the party as I'm releasing a new contacts manager for PalmOS I've been working on the past couple of months.

TouchBook is an alternative contacts manager for Palm OS. It has a nice GUI, and the ability to scroll the contact list with your fingers, stylus, or search for names using the good old keypad.

The application also includes a today screen and a favorites screen.

It is customizable with wallpapers and an automatic color adjuster and chooser!

I would be very grateful if you report bugs to my site or here!
Have fun!

Also, if you begin scrolling in one direction by dragging your finger/stylus, and then reverse the scroll direction without lifting your stylus/finger, it keeps scrolling in the same direction.

Looks very nice, but I had probs after adding a bkgrnd pic fm my SD card, & then tried the option for white text & major horizontal portions of the screen disappeared. I can't even put things back to the way they were.... the checkbox next to white text shows empty, but the prob remains....

How's about adding ability to call up the Palm color palette, so we can choose text colors that would be compatible w/whatever bkgrnd we use.

Also, I'd like to see something to allow switching to a given category & have calls to the contacts list bring up whichever 3d party contacts list we use - like 2Day has links to calendar database & you can specify use of Datebk6 underneath it - unless you intend this app to totally replace our current contact manager - but there are many features I like in SuperNames that I'd miss if I went to TouchBook.

I really like this program! A couple suggestions/comments:

1. Catagories would be my most requested feature.
2. A way to add/remove contacts from within your program without having to do it through contacts would be the one thing to have me completely switch to Touchbook.
3. The ability to add new styles is really neat, but there is no way to edit the current one.
4. DIA support!

Keep up the good work!

I thought I remembered reading that it couldn't handle certain number of contacts (over 600+)?

That was a very long time ago :)

haha! so you cured the limitation? That's great. I couldn't even get the app to start because I had more than a thousand contacts. I better go back and try it again.

:) Cool Beans!

I've used TouchBook for a long time now. I've tried Treobble and 2Cool4U and of the three, I settled on Touchbook.

JavaJiveJump, yes I've cured it although you might notice a startup delay with so many contacts

Treo Musketeer, glad to hear that :)

If you have a contact with a photo and are using full screen (320x480) to view the contact, it will display the picture and infor for a split second and then revert to a no picture (man silhouette) with info instead.

If you keep your DIA up (making the viewable screen 320x320), the contact info and personalized picture displays normally.

Thanks for looking into!

The app has come along quite nicely! :)
