Being somehow inattentive to opening hours , I've been glad to find a Palm app that records the opening hours of anything I need to remember (bank , stores and so on ) with a view for everyday and the time remaining till closure ; it's named Open .
Hope it will help some of you .

Yup!
I've been using it for years. Pretty good and straightforward.
My only wish would be that it supported multiple breaks.

Yes it is very nice for a quick check to see if something is open. I keep the store/company name and phone number on the description line. Two features that I would add are 320x480 screen support, and jog-dial/nav support.

This is a really nice app. I like the way it tells you how much time left open for each entry in the main screen. Good idea about phone number, I hadn't thought of that.

Anybody figure out how to drag the hours from one day to duplicate for the rest of the days? I can highlight but I cannot drag..

you just swipe down from one of the entries to the one you want to fill

Any 320x480 open yet?
Ive been using open for ages, I consider it a classic app.

Yes, I hate having a bunch of resturants, etc. in my address book database so the phone numbers in Open works for most businesses in which I don't need much addl info. Oh, I also usually include a street name in the description as well so that I know where they are located. This is especially useful for places that have more than one location in the area.

Oh, another feature that I would like to see added to Open is a note field for addl info beyond the name/street/phone that I already place on the description line.

Biz-Hours (http://www.bestpalmsoftware.com/works/utilities/bizhours74.htm)
Lets you list various businesses and their open/close hours. The hours can be customized for particular days of the week. Phone number is included along with an option to draw a map or handwritten note.

Looks like a nice piece of software, unfortunately that page's link to the zip file returns a 404 error.

I looked at Biz-Hours a long time ago, but I like the "Exception" hours and the hours-drag feature in Open, I don't need a map, and (this is really picky) I didn't like the UI of BH.

I downloaded both programs to compare them. I will have to go with bizhours. Open is too plain where biz hours looks good specially if you have palmrevolt. The downside with bizhour it doesn't have the format that Open has; Mon to Sun. I can see where the except feature in Open would come handy- if you have a long list of Sushi restaurants- other than that not that useful. Where bizhours has notes and map options (good for if the business is out town and you forget if it was business 80 or interstate 80- you'll have to map to always help you remember). But both icons are horrendous, had to use iconplus to replace them. Winner: bizhours.

I've downloaded BizHours too , and I must say it's more appealling to the eyes ; but it freezes my TIX whenever I want to use the mapping function .

I like Open functionalities and the except feature will work well for me in Europe , where a lot of stores and administrations are closed between 12h-12h30/13h-14h.

But if somebody mixed Open with BizHours that would be great .

BizHours map feature reset my TX when I tried it. After entering the map I tried it out then tried to exit - >Reset! I think Open will do fine for me.

Same exactly here.. I don't like apps where you have to remember NOT to use certain features to avoid resets..
Also, BizHours does not have the nice displayl like OPen where it will tell you how may hours remain till opening/closing...

Why don't you simply use your "contacts" ?

You just have to create a note with the opening hours.

Parce que les horaires d'ouverture des administrations , des magasins , etc.. n'ont rien à faire dans mes contacts , antoinepierre !
Because administrations § stores opening hours don't have anything to do in my contacts .

I have a number of retail/services categories that I use within Open and I would not have enough cats within my address book. I also just don't like mixing all of those stores/services that I just need to know a phone/street and hours filliing up my address book. I probably have about 200 entries in Open that I do not want cluddering my important contacts.
