Help me install Z-launcher!!

Ok, I followed th install instructions on ZZTechs page.. but it doesn't quite say how to install the zip files.

Do I install all of them? How? Only a few of them?

Which ones?

On an NX, you install the following:

ZLauncher.prc
ZLT_AquawoodXP_Sony_64K.prc (or a different skin you find online)

That's all you need, but you can install an icon set if you want, as well as the reader, or a background image.

Yeah, I tried that.

I get the following error

No available theme for this device! please install at least one theme which matches this device

Are you sure you installed the right theme? It has to be the Sony 64K one; there's a lot of themes in the zip files with very similar names.

Yep, sure did! Now, maybe I have to put it somewhere differently?
I have it on my internal memory.

Your Palm only takes .prc or .pdb files...The warning you listed means you installed the wrong "theme" for Zlauncher. Doublecheck to make sure that you installed the one previously mentioned by RLDunn.

Yep, I have the right file.

Where do these files go? Is it possible I put them in the wrong place?

I don't mean to sound mean or anything, but...

it might help if you read the 'readme' , 'manual', ect. before you install anything to your clie.

zlauncher is very clear on what to install, for what handheld, ect.

Zlauncher files in RAM. There is no onboard "directory".

A lot of the files you are looking at, in that zip is part of the html manual.

Did you unzip the files? I only ask that, because it said you tried to install the zip files.

It's more like 3 or 4

ZReader Lite.prc  for viewing text files

ZLManager.prc  for managing themes, icon sets, backimages, etc. These plus the ZLManager app can be stored on the MS.

ZLauncher.prc  the main app

ZLT_xxxx.prc  one of the theme files (ex: Aquawoodxp)

Readme1st.htm has all the installation instructions, it should also create 3 directories on your MS for themes, icons, and backimages.
