I recently downloaded DIAButton, an application that allows you to map switching btwn landscape and portrait views to one of the hard buttons on my palm tx. I'm wondering if anybody knows of an app or other method that would allow me to do this with another button to open/close the application drop down menu.

centermenu, find it here in the freeware section of 1src.

its made by pruss and it drops down the menu when you hold the center key for more than a second, shuts off the palm if you hold it for 2, turns on the palm if you hold it down for 2 when off.

it also has cool combos:

hold center and the home key to lower brightness
hold center and calendar button to raise brightness
hold center and contacts button and you will rotate the screen 90%, you can even make the screen flip upsidedown and to lefthanded landscape
hold center and the web key to toggle the DIA, up and down

its an pannel app, I recomend it alot

Search 1src forums for MenuDA - someone made that recently :D Then you'll also need a DA launcher for example MetaDA (or search for DA launcher and you'll find many options)

CenterMenu is stable, powerful, small and easy to set. My votes for it too. :)

I have the following problem with it:
After installing it, I can't get the Palm clock to show up when pressing my center button with the power off. Most of the time nothing happens, and then every once in a while it shows up and the screen locks up and begins to fade, requiring a soft reset. Seems to be a third-app conflict though, as it always works fine just after a reset.

For the drop down "menu" I use a myKBD macro on H1(long).
