Having spent time here on the forums searching for answers, I hope someone can answer my question. I have installed MyInstall on my memory stick on my nx80v (in the palm program folder) and then downloaded an app to the same folder(MyInstall). But when I then click on MyInstall to run the program, it says there is no app there to start. So I am confused and don't know what to do next. Have I made a mistake ...did I put MyInstall in the wrong folder, or forget to do something esle? I hope someone can help me here. :)
I forgot to mention, I am using Data Import and Data Export on my clie and pc to move these files. Any ideas....did I put MyInstall in the wrong folder, and if I did, where and how do I do the right way?

As far as I know, MyInstall has to reside in RAM. At least my installation of the app is that way and I have no problems.

The .prc needs to be in RAM, and the programs you want to install need to go to the \MyInstall folder on the card.

Yeah that's what I meant. Sorry if I wasn't clear. :)

Thanks cyberdude
I have moved Myinstall to ram. Now where should I put the files that I download and want to put on my clie? In other words, how do I get apps from my pc to the clie?

As sgosnell said the files you wish to install must be in the MyInstall directory on your card.

As sgosnell said the files you wish to install must be in the MyInstall directory on your card.Which, if I remember correctly, you must make for yourself. The program doesn't create it. And it needs to be in the root directory of your external card.
I might also direct you to MyInstall's sister program, AutoInstall, which installs the application in the MyInstall directly as soon as you insert the card into your device. It's worth a look too. Only you can decide which version you prefer - I switched to AutoInstall when it came out. (BTW, it also uses the MyInstall directory, even though the application name is changed.

Please excuse me if I sound like a dunderhead, but how do I recoginize the root directory on the card? I am at my other computer right now, and will check later, but is it labeled Root or something that I might recognize? I can see my clie scanning when I press my Install, but it still cannot find the app that I have installed on the card.

Using a file app like FileZ or Resco Explorer, select your cardthe root directory is the highest you can go (no parent). It should have a directory called Palm in it. Create the MyInstall directory in the root directory , in other words equal to the Palm directory. It should look something like this:
<cardname>
-MyInstall <dir>
-Palm <dir>
--Launcher <dir>

Please kaysclie, don't get the wrong impression. Cyberdude tends to always be very helpful, while others, like myself for example, are never that helpful. Don't "judge" us all by the comments of one person, please :rolleyes: :D
...and some of us even have a sense of humour.
:P
And some of us are just ...... there..... :D
