I was in the same dilemma a couple of months back just like you. But, what made me decide to get the NZ90 is the built-in camera and the stabiity of the wifi and bluetooth softwares. I've heard so many issues with the 5450 that really turned me off. And the screen resolution of the NZ just blew me away!

I am bias:

Pocket PC is not a very good OS> Its slow and crashes allot.
The OS of a PPC also has trouble recognizing my handwriting. There are also more programs for Palm OS and with the Palm OS you can change and customize things more.

I have a couple of friends with PPC and they are amazed at the things I can do with my Palm OS.
Also video play back is much better on a Palm.

All of this is my own opinion however and you may form your own opinion of which OS is better for you.
My recommendation is go to the store spend about an hour and test and compare each.

As for hardware I have not looked at the Ipaq 5450 seriously so I could not help you in this area.

yo, my pocket pc is not slow and it doesnt crash a lot. my NZ is a bit bigger than my ipaq but if size doesn't matter, then no debate there.
i found the software to be much larger for the PPC...that's why they've got the 64mb mem.
the NZ and the NX both have a 200mhz processor. i think the new ipaq's have a faster processor...they're catching up to the Dell Axims.
the screen clarity of the NZ is far better than the iqpaq but is comparable with the dells.
if you want a camera, there really is no decision there. if you want built in WIFI, youve got your decision made.
have fun

I have a toshiba e740 (400 MHz)... it is slower in it's best case, and way slower when it takes 5 seconds to come back from a button push.... my nz is faster browsing, pulling up the 4 palm functions, and the wifi connects faster and is more reliable.

my screen is higher resolution, and bigger... the handwriting is faster, and it also has a voice recorder that works immediately, not after a while.

I'm selling my e740.... I'll be happy to sell it and all the accessories...

A lot of folks have complained about wifi software on the 5450 hanging up the pda. Some have complained of crashing when using it.

I like pocket pc's and I owned a few of them before switching to the NZ90.

It's good to see you giveup e740 and all the accessories.
:D

True enough, e740 is much slimmer than NZ but in the first place, this thread is totally wrong in the place as it should be "Ipaq 5450 or NX70".

NX70 is slimmer(about the same with e740) with the same CPU speed with NZ/ bigger and better LCD screen than e740.

Provide Voice / Audio / Video player & recorder / remote control for TV / hifi / videotape / DVD / VCD players and work faster than e740.

Although NZ90 is bigger, it's provide better quality in overall with better keyboard/ Camera with flash/ speaker/ battery life indicator/bluetooth.

you would get an NZ because of the two megapixes camera... that should be the issue here...

I was a pocketpc user and the NZ90 is my first palm type system. The screen is better on the ipaq(but not as high resolution). For one thing, white is white, not blue. I had the 5450 but I had a problem with it resetting for no reason. If you use outlook alot, Palm sucks in syncing. I like the feel of the NZ90, and the 2mp camera. But that was the reason why I got it. If it didn't, I would've probably tried again to get the 5450 that didn't hard reset on me. Wi-fi wasn't high on my list but the thumb printer reader was and worked well for me. Bluetooth on both doesn't seem that great compaired to my friends tungston. His seemed to sync faster..

Also, don't forget that you'll get a lot of help, yes, I mean A LOT OF HELP, from us if you have any trouble using your NZ. This alone is enough to get yourself an NZ. ;)
