Having recently acquired a Clie NX70V, I would like to thank all of you that have posted onto this board.
Reading through the discussions, "How Too's" and hints has literally shaved weeks from the learning curve (I was a PalmIIIx user) and helped me to avoid quite a few expensive mistakes. :D

I am now left a few problems with moving JackFlash and the CFSlotDRVR into Flash, since they both report being "in Use"

Any help, hints ideas on a way to get them safely tucked away into Flash?

My current config:
NX70V/E (with Clie Files and Card info updates loaded into Flash)
Zlauncher 3.12 (loaded into Flash)
JackFlash 3.0b6 (only FlashEnable loaded into Flash)
DateBk 5.0b (loaded into Flash)
iSilo 3.3 (loaded into Flash)
Super Utility 6.02 (loaded into Flash)
CF Driver 1.0

Nigel

Do NOT move the CF Driver or Flash Enable into Flash ROM! ! !

After a hard reset, Flash Enable will do you no good being in Flash as you won't have access to it, please store it on your memory stick.

If you put the CF Driver in Flash, you'll NEVER be able to update it or remove it, very bad move! ! !

The CF Driver is locked by the operating system and only can be removed by the CF Utility.

kinda like leaving your keys in the house and shutting the door ............. you would be screwed if you did this!!

OK - I get the message and have removed them from Flash and placed copies onto the MS!

When I get a larger MS, I'll use a proper backup routine.

My previous experience was with FlashPro on the Palm IIIx and its "Flash" seemed to work in a very different way on the Clie.

Thank you for prompt advice - yet another example of how you guys have savd my a*** !!

As I am E version user - have you seen anything that will let me get rid of the excess language files (given that JackSprat does not work with OS5)?

Regards

Nigel

At the moment I don't recollect anyway of doing it, sorry. The USA version has more Flash to play with 4+MB.
