Another marvelous job by ZZTech. The vertical margin works perfectly on my T665C. Up to a margin of 3, my 5 x 7 icons setup fits on one screen. Thanks, sinon!

finally! a little bit thanks to me i guess ;-) was regesting that vertical margin quite a lot of time; great that the guys did it. now one should be able to place the icons to match really every kind of wallpaper ;-)

hmm, unfortunately it's not exactly what i had in mind; i was hoping for a vertical and horizontal margin setting the space in pixels from top or left/right border (depending on general alignment) to the FIRST icon. the implemented vertical margin sets both the space from the top AND the space between the single rows which is IMHO nice but not that useful. i have five rows of icons (zoom deactivated). if i set 30 pixels the space from top is fine but the huge space between the rows looks strange.
hope zztechs will chang that one vertical margin in to settings: a) vertical margin (setting the space from top to first row) and vertical spacing (setting the space between the rows)
i am happy with ZL 312.
however there is still minor bug over the "categaroy" display on Top button bar while using characters other than englis..
let the picture tells the story.. ^^
hope it would be fixed in next version

This new setting works great if you want your icons to display at the top of the skin, but they still need a setting to have them moved down a certain amount from the top.

Have you tried other images? You may have a corrupt or incompatible image file.

Anyone else notice that at extreme values for vertical spacing, the card tags separate significantly from the icons to which they relate. Be nice if the card tags would stay with the icons. Can always turn of the card tags.

A couple issues on my T665.
1. When I set the vertical spacing, it moves the icons, but not the little memory stick icon for the apps that are on memory stick.
2. I'm not getting a consistent spacing when I change it. 0-5 pixels are all 0 pixels moved, 6-25 are all the same, 26+ display correctly.
Anyone else having these issues?

Looks like they are set to the outer corner of the grid.

I suspect Bill Gates is glad they don't do PC software.
I don't know if this had been mentioned yet:
In Theme Manager, the Themes, Backimages and Icons are now listed in alphabetical order!

As I was installing 3.12, I noticed I have folders starting at 1.4. WOW! Thats alot of folders! Just for kicks I checked the files sizes; 1.4 .prc is 252kb and 3.12 is 317kb (that's really not that bad with the huge volume of added functionality!). If you guys keep getting all your wishes soon we'll have to have a 32-64-128mb RAM Clie!!! Thanks for the hard work, ZZtechs!!! You've made an awesome product that I recommend to all my peers!

Argh, I dont understand, why did they NOT add a horizontal margin option too in the icon allignment? The icons are still too close together horizontally wise. Especially on a Low Res. It is just about perfect but not there yet.

I was just going to post that. I also hope they add a horizontal alignment feature. If you do the middle option, it spaces the icons closer together than the Average option. I would like the same spacing. Or a least a way to adjust it.

Right, but I believe they shoud be a little bit careful because too much sophistication may lead to some more unpredictability.
I love the program, but as we learned in latin school: Festina lente seems to be the order of the day.
My 2 cents,

I just downloaded it for the first time on my 1 week old NX60. WOW. This launcher is awesome! I have one question, which i couldn't find the answer to on any of their documentation. I was browsing thru my MS and got to a folder w/ all of my jpgs. I noticed that there is an icon already accosiated w/ them but when i click on the icon and select "launch" nothing happens. Can i launch a file from the MS and have it automatically launch the associated application for it? Or do i have to run the application first?

Tap and hold on the icon then select preview.
MrSandman
05-13-2003, 01:02 AM
That doesn't work. Its gives me a "Sys 0503" Error Message. Selecting "Launch" just does nothing.
Any other ideas?

Using the launch command, for jpg files, only launches AcidImage to view the images. The preview command works on all Clies that have the jpeg utility files, but not all jpegs are compatible with them, but most can be converted to a compatible jpg format with image editing software, on your PC.

Sebring, do you know where the issue lies? I have photoshop and such so it is not a problem, I just don't know what to change about the image.
Thanks:)

The image res is 1600 x 1200 (approx. 600-800KB) and were taken by a Sony Cybershot camera. If these aren't compabitle, then what are? Perhaps the file size is too large? Any idea as to what steps i need to take to get them to preview?

It's probably the file size.
The jpg has to be de-compressed to view.
Jpgs are 24 bit so the uncompressed file size would be:
1600 x 1200 x 3 (bytes, RGB) + the header, so the total would be over 5 megabytes.

Tixx, I'm not sure what needs to be changed, possibly file size, as Festus said, could be a factor. I just know that some of the yishow backgrounds from this site wouldn't work at first for me (file size shouldn't have been a problem with these). I found that if I opened them with SplashPhoto desktop, on my PC, and re-saved them as jpg, they would then work. Maybe color depth ie: 24 bit images may not work, but saving them as 16 bit images makes them work (just a guess).
Haven't tried it with Photoshop yet. Takes Photoshop forever to load on my PC, so I only use it when I plan to do a lot of image work.:)

How come I can't get a LAUNCH command when I choose a JPG from the zlauncher file manager. I have many choices on the drop down list after selecting a file: Select/Deselect, Select Group, Deselect Group, Copy, Move, Info, Beam, Send, Delete and Cancel. Never Preview. I did make sure I have Acid Image assisociated in ZLauncher. What am I doing wrong?

I don't believe the launch command is supposed to be available in file manager, just when browsing the MS category tab in the launcher.

That feature became available a few versions ago. There is a box labeled "Lefty" in the ZL Preferences screen.:) Just check the box and the scroll bar moves to the left side of the screen.

Everything I've created or saved in jpg format in MS Photo Editor has worked as a background in ZLauncher. It comes on the MS Office CD, isn't fancy, but it works.
