View Full Version : Lost my bold fonts...

Not sure this goes in SJ30 forum, but since it happened there, here it is...

I played with FontHack to add some fonts, but ended up taking it off, as well as the fonts. Also had ThinFont installed and working, but it displays strangely (doesn't display the before and the after is a plain font!) so I took that off.

Now I have no bold font available from within programs. Go to a font choice and I have the four options, but the first two fonts are *identical*, thus no small bold font available.

Have checked RAM for stray fonts/files (none), and have tried several soft resets, and turned off all hacks. Still no small bold font.

Anyone have an idea where to look to restore the small system bold font?

TIA

Gary

Have you tried a hard reset? or maybe doing a hotsync and changing the hotsync to desktop overwrites handheld. First click on the Hotsync icon on your desktop - click custom - scroll down to handheld overwrites desktop and then click on change and change it to the reverse - click OK - click done. Then do a hotsync. Good luck

That fixed the problem. I think it's related to ThinFont, which while working, doesn't behave quite right. (After enabling, the "before" portion of the ThinFont display disappears, as does the checkbox option to use it. Have e-mailed hacker-dude san (ThinFont developer), but his e-mail bounced back as unknown user.)

But...the display differance between the first two system fonts is back.

Was a good opportunity to test the MSBackup, which worked flawlessly in restoring the previous aps/files.
