I got an accton wireless gateway(with rounter) connected to my PC and laptop. But, everytime when I want to directly connect the ISP's modem to my PC, I need to call my ISP asking them to release the IP and then renew again. I tried to release the IP myself in the Accton Wireless gateway setup page (httP://192.168.2.1). But, it's not successful. It seems that the IP isn't released. How can I release the gateway's IP myself? thx a lot

Never had that problem, I don't know how ISP's work over in your area, and I am not familiar with the Accton router.

in a command prompt type:
ipconfig /?
it will list the commands u can use with ipconfig
ipconfig /release
and
ipconfig /renew
may be what u need
I'm using WinXP, but i think the commands will be the same for other MS OSs....

If you are using a cable modem, just unplug the power and then replug it to get a new IP. Then use ipconfig to release/renew the IP in your laptop. On older versions of windows I think it was WINIPCFG to run the ip config editor.
