Hi,

Has anybody taken their NR70v apart? Don't ask me how but the tip of my stylus has broke and it's logded at the top of the hole in my Clie.

As it is my NR is abit loose around the edges and could do with alittle tighting up, so a little surgury might be in order. I have thought about sending it back to Sony for repair and removal of the stylus tip coz I have only had the unit a short time but I understand that the after sales support is pants.

Anybody have any views on this?

When I opened up my NR, I remember that I could not fully pry off the back side without first taking out the stylus, so i'm not sure that would help you. You have a picture of your stuck stylus you care to post?

Taking the NR apart is not difficult if you are a "do it yourself" person.

You just need a phillips screwdriver with a small tip, and you carefully and slowly remove each of the little screws on the back (the NR should be closed and on a table with the back up).

NOTE: This may void your warranty, and you could damage something.

(I had to do this back cover removal to disconnect and reconnect my battery when my NR went dead due to flakey software.)

I sent my clie few days ago because the damages in my screen and i think they fixed it and sent it back.

I wasn't able to get it today because i wasnt home :(

I'll probably get it tomorrow if i'm lucky...

It only takes about 4 days.

Don't break anything and just send it.

They'll send a box to you by FedEx and the instructions are easy

Just call this number and an automated answering machine will receive your call. Just tell it CLIE and it will give you many choices.

I don't know all the procedure but I know that if you call again it will tell you if you're calling back for the same thing and if you say yes it will connect you to a real person :)

Here's the Service center number

Good luck!!

Nasdaq......Thanks for your help. I don't really want to take it apart and think I might just bin it and wait for the new Clie whenever that may be. Maybe get a TC...

I think the palm is more likely to last both physically, my last looking like new after two years of wear and tear, and with the possibility of OS 6 being flashed to it. Can't see the Clie being able to do that.
