For $70.00 bucks you to can have a MS Pro/MS reader/writer. Or you can suffer with MS Import. Hey SONY!... How about a software patch for my 6 in 1 card reader/writer?

The same happened to me so I now use the 6 in one on my other pc since it is USB2. I am sure gun shy about getting another one so for now I use ms import. That said, sandisk has a unit for under 20 bucks... but it has been out of stock for ages.. so again... waiting...

Yep, the only manufacturer that makes a MS pro reader other than sony seems to be SanDisk, and it is a single reader, MS only... the part number has a 97 in it...

I went to circuit city, and picked up a Sony reader, have been looking there on a weekly basis, since they stock the pro... figured it would only be a matter of time until they got a pro reader... the sony unit is a jewel, chrome, sliding cover, small, and comes with a shorty usb cable for travel... $70, but now I don't have to take hours to hotsync mp3's...

My MS Import does not register the MS Pro. It says there is no memory stick present. And I have installed the MS Pro patch too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I'll suffer with MSImport for now. Can MSImport load more than one file(batch loading)at a time.

Sandisk makes the SDDR-97 which is a single card reader that supports MSPro. I just picked one up today at CompUSA for $20. I had read in a another post that sandisk might release an MSPro firmware update for the 6 in 1 reader so I e-mailed them as this is what I wanted. This is the reply I got:

"Thank you for contacting SanDisk Technical Support.

Unfortunately, the SDDR-86 does no read the MS Pro card. We have developd the SDDR-97 to read the MS Pro. For more info, please visit:

http://www.sandisk.com/consumer/sng_usb2.asp"

I then asked them if they would ever make a 6 in 1 that worked with MSPro. The reply I got was:

"Thank you for contacting SanDisk Technical Support.

Unfortunately, there are no plans at this time to develop a multi-card reader that will read the MS Pro card.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact our technical support department at 866-726-3475. Have a Great Day!

well there goes that!

Did you install the right patch for your unit? For example, the USA patch won't work on a European model. Found that out the other day, when one fellow had an E model instead of a U model. Once he downloaded the right version, it worked like a charm. I am not saying this can be the only problem, but it's worth mentioning.
