I'd like to know if you can get at the 4MB of RAM thats tucked away so nobody can find it. Is there a program that'll help me "rescue" these lost little bytes?

That RAM is used by the system to run your apps. It's not coming back, sorry.

ok, I paid for 16MB and I'm only getting 11.....still the OS doesn't need ALL 4MB right? there must be a way to tweak it down to say 2MB

It does use all 4MB. Like I said, theres no way to get the RAM. You paid for 16MB, your using 16MB, but you can only store 11MB of files in RAM.

The funny thing is, it says there's 12.5 MB ROM space.

No you can't get to that 5MB RAM, but am I stating the obvious when I mention the program Jackflash (http://www.brayder.com) which allows access to Flash ROM?

What is the success rate with JackFlash on TG50s? The posts I've seen have mostly said something to the effect of, "Most don't work, mine did." Are there a bunch of TG50s that don't work with it? How many have tried it?

yeah, I've heard that the US versions of the TG-50 (ie /U) don't have any ROM available. Yet, the specs say we've got 16MB of rom!? wtf is that

say, does anyone know where I can get Jackflash 3.0 Beta? I'd like to see if I can get it to work on my TG BEFORE I spend my hard earned cash :)

Thats because those models don't have flash ROM. If it's not flash ROM, you can't change its contents no matter if there is free sapce or not.

There is no demo for JackFlash 3 as it is still in beta. The only way to use the beta is to purchase the app.

Brayder (the people who make Jackflash) have said they are planning on coming out with a free program that will assess your Palm device for available ROM. Not sure when they are going to release that.

If theres no flash ROM then I take it that TG50 OS is not upgradable? Thats BS.

As for JackFlash, thats just poor marketing. No Demo=>Lost Sales.

The problem is they're (still) in beta....it seems like forever. That's why there is no demo.

Are there any major problems? Or are they just taking several weeks to fix typos? I feel like I've been waiting for this thing for 3 months now! Oh wait....has it really been that long? I can't even remember!

Everything I have heard from beta testers has been positive (as of the latest beta release) and Brayder still hasn't updated their site with more info (really annoying!).

The web site main page has changed significantly. It now has a huge JackFlash 3.0 on it (and ROM crafter)....then when you go to products they only have a 2.6 and 2.7beta DL!

Are they just waiting 6 months so all of those who paid for the old version to get the beta can't upgrade for free???

Has anyone noticed I'm in "Angry young man" mode today???? *grin*
