HELP? Auto off not working!

Have question on the auto off while in cradle,under general settings,

When I have " stay on in cradle " checked or unchecked my unit will shut off after my pre-set auto shut down time has expired, why ?

Make sure the power cord is plugged into the cradle and your clie is charging. Otherwise it will continue to turnoff, but if this is still not the case then you may have a glitch with another app.

Good to hear that I'm not the only one with the problem. I'm on my second NX70 (lost the first - sob!) and even this does not stay on in the cradle.... Has anyone else had such a problem?

There are a plethora of apps that can keep the Clie on, I personally use energy dimmer (not free). Atool is free and there are others found on PalmGear. The apps Sony supplies are crap!

The main cause for the Stay-On in cradle not working is if you have your unit set with an automatic password on startup, then that will overide the Stay-On in Cradle setting. I don't know of any fix.

the only way to directly stop it is to turn off ur security login

The only nuisance for auto turn off is when I was reading documents using Document-To-Go and scroll the page with the jog dial instead of using my stylus, NX70V will turn off itself every 2 minutes. I have to use the stylus to scroll the screen in order to keep telling I am now "using" my CLIE and please "don't" shut it off.

Having a security password does overwrite the Stay ON feature and not come across any fix. Is there any way to change the time limit greater than 3 mins before auto-off?

I had the same problem, until I realized, this must be in conjunction with PhotoStand!
Then it works. I think this is the only reason for that. Is it?
