hi
i recently bought a sony n-760c from future shop opened boxed, compared to the other choices it was a good deal for the money i wanted to spend. so it's a little older model, oh well. anyway i bought they extended warrenty with it through future shop for an extra 50 thinking i may not need it but just in case i mean i'm gonna shell out money buying the thing i mine as well protect it. anyway now i'm glad i bought it.

i didn't recharge the battery last night since i fell asleep but figured it would do today. this morning the battery was 70 %, it lasted through the day and on the way home it was 42% then half an hour later it was 0 and turned itslef off. i got home put it in the charger and waited an hour, then i tried to sync it to the computer just to update the info on it. well now it is turning on and off and on and off and won't stop. i tried soft reset, that didn't work. i think tried hard reset and that won't work either. then i tired a warm reset and that didn't work. i never even got the screen asking if you want to delete all the files for the hard reset. now it's in the cradle and turning on and off and on and off. has anyone else had problems like this, and if so how did you stop them. did they stop as the battery got more of a charge or not? i would hate to take it in to get it fixed it has become my life for music and games while in school and i won't be lost without it.
thanks
Lau

*edit*
only the palm powered screen comes up and nothing else when it comes on, so it stays on for a second. also it even does this when i have hold on trying to get it to not do it

Hard reset should do the trick. At least it did on mine. Once in a while when I install bad app, it gives me flashing Palm logo, but good old hard reset always work.

Never let my battery to go to 0% and hope never will (knock on wood). So I have not experienced what you had. I seldom even to let the battery to go below 60% most of the time. According to battery expert, it is best to charge often, as this LiIon battery is different than the NiCd one, in the sense that it has no memory, but it has finite number of full charge/discharge cycles. The more often you charge it the longer the battery life time will be since you only do a partial charge/discharge cycle. Mine has been working fine that way for 20 months now. For long travel with no access to AC, I do carry an external 4AA battery pack.

Just in case the Clie accidentally goes dead on the road for some reason, I do keep RAM backup in MS so I can fully restore the RAM without HotSync. That is something you may want to consider.
