Sure, just open the case and cut the LED off the mb. Wouldn't be my choice, but it's your LD.

The way I hold my LD, I'm able to cover the LED with my thumb. But iy would be nice if there was some software that can temporarily disable the LED.

instead of tape you could put a bit of black nail polish on the inside....just an idea.....

@ tomlouie - i tried the thumb bit but there's a visible flicker still when i do that.
@ joe - great idea. that's what i'll do.

before i could crack the case on my ld and paint the light, i installed whinehack and now there's no flashing light when i play videos in tcpmp. strange coincidence? or is it more than that? you be the judge. and when i use speedy to clock the ld, i get 380 mhz clockspeed with no overclocking. anyone else have this happen?

If you play a video file from a SD card there is no LED flashing at all. But as soon as you move the video to LifeDrive, the LED starts to flash.
Well it would be nice to have an app to manage the LED, instead of using an extra SD card!

as far as i can remember, i don't think such an application existed.
But the LED only flashes when it is charging, or reading from the internal disk. So my suggestion would be to save the videos to an SD card.
(palmpowerups.com has a hack that allows the reading of higher capacity SDHC cards, in case you need more space. be warned though, the tweaks are epic if they work, but it can be a real pain if you don't have a clue how to use it, or if it encounters a problem since support isn't the best. :) )
(My LD broke a while back :P )

This bliking led while im watching videos will make me have a seizure....After the Pokemon incident where the cartoon showed a flashing light some kids experienced seizures. Not everyone is susceptible to blinking light seizures and it is useful to moderate seizures by having ambient light to reduce the possibility.....
