I've been using Florent Pillet's (abandon-ware) FindHack (http://pagesperso-orange.fr/fpillet/findhack.html) v4.0.7 since 2002. His site only shows 4.06 so maybe he mailed out 4.07 to registered users when he dropped development of the app. Anyway, it always worked great until my TX and NVFS, now it resets on occasion while searching. I can deal with that to gain the functionality it offers.
A couple weeks back when I was trying to free up some resources I disabled many apps on my device. Now after enabling FindHack again, I find that it works as it used to, but once I complete a search and click "Done" to exit the app, rather than click on one of the results, the default Palm Find dialog pops up! I can hit cancel and I'm on my way, but this didn't happen before. Any thoughts?

I think I had the same issue after I installed the fix for the security hole when using the find function. Did you install the 'find fix'?

When I installed palm's fix for this, I saw the behavior you describe.

Hmm. I wonder if this is the cause of the resets I get when I use FindHack in the Phone app on my Treo 680. It's fine everywhere else. I e-mailed Florent and he acknowledged the problem, but there hasn't been any fix forthcoming.
Maybe I'll try and undo the security patch.

Is anybody using FindWiz? For those that don't get the results they need from the built-in Find, what are you using? I know I'm not the only person that needs more from a search function!

Is anybody using FindWiz ?It's my favorite search function. :D
And ... the author speaks some french. ( I know, most of you don't care ;) )
Many search tools (http://forum.palmattitude.org/index.php?showtopic=30865&st=0), you'll need google translator.

It's my favorite search function. Thanks, I knew somebody must use something more. I wish the FindWiz interface was a little "cleaner", especially the results page. I find that forcing myself to use it has made it more natural and all of the main screen options more simple. I have feature requests, but it doesn't seem there is any sign of active development on the app.
Thanks for the Search Tools list - I have tried most of them.
