Nope. The new standard uses parallel optical fibres - no advancement in data rates that could be be read forward to wireless technology.

There already is a wireless USB "standard" (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/07/24/first_wireless_usb/).

Unfortunately it cannot be used in the EU legally (yet?) due to the frequency range they decided to use. You would have thought that after so many years using frequency bands they would have picked a globally public once, but noooooo.
