msfiles vs launcher

Sorry about this simple question but I`m confused about what to put under the launcher file and what to put under the msfiles @ memory stick. Seems like both does the same job in terms of reaching programs at the memory stick but what`s the difference ? I don`t know I`m confused.

A little history should help clear this up. When the first Clie came out in October of 2000, it was the first device with VFS. This VFS was later rolled into the operating system and is what we're all using today with Palm OS 4.0 and after. When the S300 came out, Sony wanted all the files placed into the /Palm/Programs/Msfiles folder. After Palm rolled VFS into the operating system, it set the launcher to recognize files in the /Palm/Launcher folder. Most apps today that are "VFS-aware" will look for apps in the Launcher folder, so it would probably be better to put them there.
