Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but let's try...
I've just got a TRGPro device. Nice Palm III clone by Handera, with 8 MB of RAM and support for 1G CF card (maybe more - have not tried yet).
Unfortunately the Palm OS is 3.5.3, which does not support some apps I was using on Palm OS 4.1.
Does anybody have an OS upgrade for TRGPro up to Palm OS 4.1? Or at least does anyone know is this even possible?

I don't think it's possible, since the TRGPro (made by TRG before it became HandEra) had a custom version of the OS with CF support. As far as I know, TRG never released an update to OS 4.

Palm devices didn't have SD support at that point; the only other expandable Palm OS device (besides the IIIx, which had an internal expansion socket) was the Handspring Visor series.

I think you are out of luck here. The HE330 had a beta PalmOS4.1 that worked well, but as far as I know, hardware limitations on the TRGPro prohibit the newer OS.

I have a similar issue as above. I just purchased a used TRGpro for paperless geocaching. I only need one program. I also have a newer PDA with Palm 4.1 installed. I don't need any new functionality of 4.1 with the older TRGPro. Is there any way to install 2 instances of Palm Desktop on 1 computer, and sync one PDA with 4.1 and the TRGPro with the original Palm Version that came with the device (e.g. 3.5).

Currently, my TRGPro doesn't have any programs installed. it only shows HotSync and Preferences. I do not want to install the software that came with it, and in the process, wipe out all my Garmin Ique data that uses palm 4.1

The version of Palm Desktop that came with your other Palm should work fine with the TRGPro. Just give the TRGPro a different HotSync name than your other PDA has. The Desktop doesn't give the PDA any additional functions; it just backs up and displays your PDA's addresses, datebook entries, etc. and lets you load stuff to the PDA.

I'm an old TRG Pro user & there IS a place where you can get upgrades to the os, albeit obviously unofficial.... Go to Yahoo Groups & you should still be able to find the updates there...

Check the forums there also, if memory serves, 4.2 should be the most stable version among the updates.

Good luck!

Great PDA for the time, but now, I pretty much only use it to keep my address database of 500+ addresses/contacts up to date. Now, I want to print labels from it or export it to a program that will let me print labels on standard Avery sizes. Does anyone know how to do this?
