I tried searching for a certain post but can't seem to find it.

In it, someone took apart the sync/charge dongle and wired up either a gps or bluetooth connetion into it. I forget which.
This thread might have been lost in the big crash.

Does anyone have a link. Actually, does anyone remember how to get the dongle open, I think i remember something about using a dryer to heat up the adhesive so that it could be pried open.

I need to know how to take it apart so that i can mod the inside, I want to connect the leads so that i can charge the clie with the usb cable only and not have the ac adaptor to lug around.

If anyone can help I'd be much obliged.

I remember a group of people modding an SJ30 dongle and popping in bluetooth but I dont remember anything with a T series dongle.

Actually, I believe that is the same thing I am talking about...
I think that the T series connector is the one used in most of the clies for a while now.

I.E. the sj, t, nr, nx. Isn't it sorta like the universal connector for clie now?

close. I have seen that page already, but that is not the connector that I am looking for.

The old S pinouts do not look like they correspond to the pinouts on my nx70v connector.

NX is same connector physically, slightly different electrically.

(i think)

You know, you can buy a Belkin cable that charges off a USB port for $20, and it includes a car lighter/USB adapter so you can charge in the car, too. That's the way to go, if you ask me.

Yeah, I know about the other alternatives, but I already have a usb cable set that includes a 5 pin mini usb head.
I'd like to be able to get it to use my clie dongle so i don't have to bring yet another cable around with me.

As for the Nx connector being different electrically, I know that there are differences such that certain items like fold out keyboards don't work, but I have used the dongle that came with the sj30 to charge and had no ill effects. So, i figure the charge leads are at least the same.

I remember the exact post you are looking for. I'm almost positive it was a link off of Clieplanet. Drop Shaun at the planet a quick email he may be able to tell you where to find the site that had the detailed instructions etc.
