Palm Centro has new versions of Blazer, Versa Mail etc.
Does anybody try these files with Palm TX?

I will once my Palm comes back from the repair center :) To have a little idea of what might work, see this discussion between me and Alexander gratz

Why bother? Does anyone expect new functionality? Or that Palm fixed the Blazer lag? Naah..
Seems to me that going backwards is more of an advantage (like recovering Tungsten's drive mounting option) with Palm than going forward

Well, actually, Blazer has gotten progressively better with each release, so this new version may be better still.
And who says we can't make use of the best old and new apps at the same time?
Please keep us posted, BrentDC!

WEll, that is part of the problem. I am not sure you can use the Centro files unless you own a device yourself. This issue already came up in a different thread

Eventually, the files will be out in the web. Just like the customs ROMs, the T5 to T3 pack and all the other stuff. :-)

You can use them if you register with Palm as a developer, which is quick and easy to do. Palm makes the contents of the various ROMs available to developers for free.

I am a developer and a long time registrant at their PDN program.
It only makes available the simulators which have crippled x86 adapted ROMs and dlls instead of PRCs

You could choose to do this:
In Windows, download FileZ.prc (or another file manager of your choice) and drop it into the "Card1" folder of your simulator. Then run the simulator, launch FileZ from the simulated SD card, and use it to copy any PRCs or PDBs you want from the simulator's internal memory onto the simulated SD card. Switch back to Windows, and you will then find intact copies of these PRCs and PDBs in the "Card1" folder, ready to be transferred to another Palm device.
I've never seen a PRC or PDB extracted in this manner that was crippled.
You would only choose to do this for development purposes, of course, and not distribute the files to others.

thats what i am talking about. ALL the ARM libs on the simulator contain only the addresses to the functions in the appropriate DLLs of the simulator folder and WILL NOT(DO NOT) work on a real device

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you are saying, but I just used the method I described above to extract the following files from the DLLs in the LifeDrive simulator:
FileBrowser-PFil.prc
FileBrowser-PFil_enUS.prc
FileBrowserCacheLib-PFil.prc
FileBrowserLib-PFiA.prc
I copied these onto my real T|X device, where they work perfectly, providing my T|X with the Files 2.0 application normally found only in a LifeDrive or Tungsten T5. (Correction: It was Files 1.0 in the T5.)

Yes. Those programs have no ARM code in them and therefore can be used but try copying HsNav, HsExtensions and other system stuff like that. Then open them up in a hex editor and you will see that there is no code and only references to the according dll

Ah, I see. I was referring to apps, not system stuff.
