I'm trying UDMH on my TX.

I basically understand what it does, but I'm confused by the utter lack of documentation--for example, what does "clean up for this app" mean?

And since the maximum "chunk size" available is about 17 megs, is there any point in giving any app more than 17 megs of "dynamic memory"?

1) "clean up" - this means that when the app in question quits, UDMH cleans up any memory leaks it might have left behind. Personally, I think Dmitry should have left this on by default for all apps... although I guess there are some apps that might purposefully leave data in memory when they quit.

2) "Show ____ k of dynamic memory" should be left blank for most apps; some apps behave differently depending on how much dynamic memory is *reported* though, and these apps need a number in there to function correctly. Since there is roughly 20MB max available, setting it to report anything higher than that is pointless. "chunk size" isn't an issue, as UDMH can use multiple chunks as dynamic memory. What you really want to look at is the number in "Free space" which should be somewhere around 19726064.

The one thing you didn't mention was "skip quit" which preserves the app's settings even after it has quit. This is useful for apps like Docs2Go which are actually multiple apps with a front end launcher.

The one thing I don't understand is why somebody who really understands UDMH hasn't compiled a list of recommended settings for common apps... (hint, hint)

It's probably due to the fact that the list is very short, as the app is usually "set and forget". The "list" is in probably around 20 threads on 1src, but isn't generally interesting enough to generate its own personal thread.

Here's my list again:
PDF2Go: disable
LJP: clean up, 19996k
PalmPDF: clean up, 16000k
pTunes: disable (can't remember why; they generally play well together)
ScummVM: disable
Picsel Browser: clean up
