in a previous thread, by using compatible drivers, the WL100 could be made to work with a computer... however, if the computer doesn't have a built-in CF-card slot, could one use a compatible PC-card adapter for the WL100? if there it is possible, what comptabile cards would you suggest?
im really consdering my choices before i do actually buy the WL100..

I think PC-Card to CF adapters are all about the same. (Please correct me if I am wrong) I was able to use the WL100 in my older Vaio laptop using an adapter from an Epson printer.
My install of Win2k Pro didn't have the proper drivers for the card, they are on Intel's site but are like 60MB because they make you get the entire CD. There is probably a smaller download available somewhere.

Dear clie_wnnabe,
did you get a pc-card to cf adaptor. Did you have to put regards on something special when looking for that card, or do they all work the same?

A PCMCIA CF Adaptor would work fine with the WL100. I use the one from my old Mindstor portable storage device (which bombed) and it works fine. I really haven't looked into it but I am assuming all PCMCIA cf adaptors are the same. Its the drivers on the computer that matter.
