OK, just spent a 1/2 hour doing this.... using a 1 gig microdrive, cf driver... audio player will accept 102 mp3's in MSAUDIO subdirectory... add one more mp3, and get a fatal error...

Has anyone else had more than 103 titles all in the same directory?

From my preliminary tests, size of file makes no difference... I also added some non-mp3 files to the MSAUDIO directory, no difference...

(damn, still have lots of room left, may have to do the "rename directory" trick)

I have 222 songs on the 1G Stick without issues

On the CF I have 103 but it is not full. I have not tried to put more

On the Sony site, you can read

Restricted Functions
The number of files supported
The format of files supported

The maximum number of MP3 music files which can be played is 999.
Recording and playback of ATRAC3™ format music is not supported.

Do you have the MSPro update installed greg? Looks to me like this update may move the limitation up to 999.

Could it be the formatting ? Did you format to FAT and NOT FAT32 ?

Just my 2 cents worth

nope... if it was fat32, would not work at all...

your reply is not really on the thread... i'll let you listen to the same 57 songs each time, i prefer to pull from a larger repertoire...
