Hi,

i tried sending to various phones, like p800 and nokia 3650..but to no avail. the phone always rec the file as .exg and they cannot read the file. that is if the file is PGP format. I am currently unable to beam DCF file over....any luck with yours?

Hey guys...

I have a NR70v and a T68i...I use McFile to transfer pics over to my T68i. McFile is one of a couple of file manager programs that allows you to keep jpeg and gifs on the Clie.

For example, my pc doesn't have IR so when I find good backgrounds for the phone online, or of I take a contact pic with the Clie's camera (then edit the size on my pc), I transfer it to my Memory stick.

I then open McFile and I can beam it to the T68i....

Hope that helps!

Hello

1) install McFile on to your Clie

2) open McFile

3) send the picture from your t68i over IR to your Clie

4) tell McFile where to save the picture

(AcidImage is very useful to open lots of different picture formats)

Id guess the same thing......It'll take a little while, but while in McFile (if that's what you are using), beam your selected pics from the t68i to the clie. It'll connect and McFile will ask you if you want to reciece the file to your MS. Say yes and it'll then ask you what directoy/folder you want to place it in. I have a folder on my MS specifically for t68i pics. Choose your folder and hit OK. You are done. If you want to check to see that the file beamed correctly b4 u send the phone off......Use MSImport to see the Clie on your PC as the extra drive. Go through your MS folders till you find where u beamed the pics and try to view them. Should be no prob....

what about using bluetooth from either my Clie or from my Vaio? Anyone done this? know how to?

From PDA - you have the option to use IR or Bluetooth to send images to your phone

I don't know how it works yet from a Vaio (have one, but no bluetooth dongle yet).

If you have a Vaio with built-in bluetooth, then I'm sure that there is some instruction on your laptop that will help you. If not, then you'll need to buy a Bluetooth USB dongle.

In any case, the main thing about Bluetooth is getting the 2 devices paired and recognising each other. One that is accomplished, you should be able to send pics back and forth.

Hi,

I have had no problems saving the files in my clie, but as for beaming it over to my Nokia 3650, my n3650 do not recognise the file. Any help?

You would need to find out exacty what types of files that the 3650 takes, wheter it be pics, apps, or whatever.

I know that my t68i will accept .imy files (ringtones), .gif (backgrounds) and .thm (themes).

I know my Clie, normally won't show files like that if I just try to save them to it, so I use McFile to see and organize them.

Make sure that the files that you are sending are files that the Nokia will recognize.

hi,
my nokia 3650 takes in jpg. I tried sending a file in all 3 formats, clie format, PGP and DCF, the phone reads all as a exg, and does not recognise the file.

Like I said - I don't understand what you're saying about "sending a file in all 3 formats" You are no supposed to do that.

If you are using McFile, on your Clie you will see your .gif and .jpg files as exactly that type of file (i.e. image01.gif, image02.jpg). All you have to do is beam them at that point.

Actually, I'm sorry - still confused. From your above posts, I cant tell if you are:

A. trying to send files from your Clie to your 3650.
B. trying to send files from your 3650 to your Clie.

If you are trying to send from your Clie to your 3650 - those file formats - PGP, DCF - wont work. The files need to be in the format that the 3650 can understand - .gif and .jpg. The 3650 has no clue what PGP and DCF are. If it is a picture, I think you'd have to change it to .jpg or .gif before the phone would be able to recognize it.

That might be your problem - I think that the t68m is not capable of showing caller id pics.

Go to www.howardforums.com

It's a great forum for cellphone information - check the Sony Ericsson forum and I'm sure you'll find a difinitave answer there.

They get a couple of posts there regarding Clies - I always point them here!
