Since all the old posts got deleted and when I put this up before I got a lot of people who found this useful, I'm posting again the link to the article I wrote about how to get your NR70 using your home network to access your internet connection via IR. Why would you want to do this? So that you have a second mini-pc by the side of your main pc! I play CS in a clan so I have the NR70 connected to our IRC channel (using the great upIRC software from Smittyware) whilst my pc is running CS. It saves having to switch in and out of windows every time we finish playing a certain level/on a certain server.

If this is at all useful to you let me know as it took me ages to figure out!

I'm not affiliated with Smittyware by the way - I just genuinely think that upIRC is a great product and the reason why I'm on his site is because we swapped my article for a copy of upIRC.

Where is a cheap place to get a IR cable? Any idea where to find a good one with a good line of sight? I would rather not have to point directly at the unit if possible.

line of sight is pretty much common in IR transmitter/receivers. However, you might consider adding something like this to the system after it is working. I don't know if it will work though....

and $50 is a big investment for a "test", though radio shack is pretty good about returns here, if you say, "I am sorry, it just wouldn't work with one of my primary IR devices"
