Hi

Dose anyone know if there is a night mode for the palm that works with the palm os, very much like the night mode in planetarium?

Thanks

It might depend on what device you have, but you can go to Preferences, Personal, Color Theme and choose "Midnight". Is similar to the "look" of Planetarium, it's built-in and obviously free. :)

Well, there is 2red, which makes exactly that, but firstly it is not free, and secondly-it cannot be purchased any longer...
So if anyone knows any application which can do the same, please share with the rest of us! :)
Thanks!

So, to reiterate, what is wanted is the following:
1) blackborder to get rid of the white border around the screen
2) a theme that is red on black (like Midnight, but with red instead of blue)
3) a DIA that is red on black

Sounds like something that could be done with BlackBorder, SkinUI and MyKbd.

Personally, I just set the brightness to 3% and leave it at that....

palmpowerups.com has a border remover under experimental apps, and the themes are probably available for palmpowerups.com's skinui and mykbd

I have an app called BrightTools that will dim your back light to a specified level at a certain time of day (eg: at night) it can then also brighten the screen during some other part of the day. If used w/ BrightnessFx you can dim the back light even further than the stock Palm low setting.

Treos have night mode, just press option key and then the right shift. Its dims the screen and keys. In my case that I have always the keys light off, on doing this it dims the screen and turns on my keys light so I can type in the dark.

Yes, I was using mySkin together with brightness fix form Palm powerups, but is there, besides 2red, any other application which can do it in one click and later return the normal settings with a second click?

BrightTools (http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&PartnerREF=&siteid=1&prodID=123534) in addition to the automated toggle also has the abilty to assign a toggle function to a hard button - you get the choice of toggling between 2 degrees of brightness or having a little pop-up that gives you a choice between 4 degrees of brightness. I have the 2-way toggle assigned to my center button (press and hold so I don't loose regular functionality). Note** you assign the varying brightness levels wherever you want them. I use this myself for a kindof night-mode.

You should be able to automate it with a MyKbd macro, too.

Thanks for the advice! :)
I have just installed BrightTools and it is sucn a great program! :) Works great on both T3 and LD and it even recognizes values set by Dmitry'2 Brightness fix! :D
But I have a question regarding MyKbd macro. Would it be stable on the LD? I am asking because I use FlushIt! (something similar to OffFlush) to clear DBCache.

UPDATE:
I have found a way to achieve what I want - Since I never use Wide Graffiti writing area, I simply changed its color into really dark red, almost black! :)
So now, when I enter any of the astronomy programs, I just switch to it and can enjoy watching the stars without too much light! :) Thanks for all the advice! :)

Hi,
no midnight on my Treo 680 - sorry!

However, AFAIK, there are other freeware color tools that offer more choices...
