Just announced today (http://www.palm.com/us/products/smartphones/centro/).
Not much that we don't know. Except for the "cherry red" color...eew... The black one is much better.
I like the $100 price point, yet I don't like to pay for data plans... (and we are all tired of "where's the WIFI" discussions, we all know that this is Sprint, not WIFI loving T-mobile)
For people who are willing to pay for Sprint data plans though, I think this might be the best product Palm has done since the TX.

Not for me . . . I'll keep using my Treo 700p until HTC or someone puts out a device worth getting excited about. ;)

Same. Waiting for HTC Kaiser. Hopefully coming to T-Mobile. Its rumored as so thanks to FCC pictures.

I don't know. I'm thinking about snapping up that black one. I think that it's a really nice looking machine. The thing that has held me back on the Treo is price. If I can get a Centro for $100 then I might go for it. It wouldn't replace my TH55, but it would be a nice phone. The only thing that may keep me from getting one is that it looks like you have to buy a data plan, and I won't be going for that.

On the other hand, a data plan with Sprint is $12/mo. these days! ;)

It is my understanding the $99 price requires a data plan costing $25 or more.

I'm not really interested in data. All I want is a good compact phone that can access my Palm address book.

AdamThen this might be just the low-end Treo for you! :) And of course you can add many other non-network palm apps as well. I just like email, google maps, and lite web browsing, and downloading application updates directly on my Treo 700p.

I've read that too. Sprint is making a big mistake charging that much for data per month on a 99 dollar smartphone.
