I just purchased an NX60 on clearance from CompUSA for 299.
Anyway, having never used a pda before I am coming to grips.
One irration is that the volume control won't go up to maximum level when I am using Audio Player.
Am I missing something here????
I am playing an mp3 on a regular memory stick.
thanks

If it is only going to one third, then you need to push AVLS(never owned a Sony Walkman, eh?) Means Automatic Volume Level stabilizer(?)- system(?), This will protect you from taking the volume up to harm your ears, deaf? If it only is a little bit away from full vol then use the jogdial to change volume..

When my headphones are on, it has more volume than I can stand :)!

Thanks nx70, for the AVLS tip.
You are correct, I have never owned a walkman and this is only my second day with the NX (my first pda)!
Quite the Spinal Tap question, I must admit..
Keith Walker
You are welcome.
You never had a Walkman? Not even one by AIWA or Panasonic? You maybe missed somethin'. Sound a good mood where ever you go.
But I apologize that- you have finally come to the Walkman of all Walkmen: the NX :D

Yes it is true.
I have never owned a walkman, or similar, device!
I was a teenager when they were introduced. Confounding, isn't it?
Keith
Not really, maybe they were too expensive to by for a teenager. When I was 17 I had my first real Sony Walkman- including Bass Boost and AVLS. Since then I have ever had a portable. MD or MC. But the AVLS is of no use. It limitates you in your choice of volume- but not the music. Known as normalization, this is what I expect from a AVLS-button..

AVLS- gives you distortion free sound. its very useful if you are using the bass boost at 3, it only lets you go to a volume were it produces clear audio once the sound gets crackely it wont let you go any louder.
Yeah, but why does it call itself automatic volume.. ? It does fix the vol level. that's all.

becuase it automatically ajusts the volume with the quality of the headphones... and if you notice in some "clean" songs you can go louder and "distorted songs. ie john mayer-clean and Metallica -distorted
