The first time I played this game I thought I wasn't going to get far, but yesterday I played like I've never played before. Here is a screen shot of my game status:

Tip: To be more accurate you might want to remove the stylus from the screen while the ball in not on your side and tap on the screen when the ball comes to your side. However, you must be fast. This will allow you to move faster from right to left.

Hi,

I absolutely love this game (registered it after playing for a few minutes only) but am also frustrated. I'm getting a little better, but wow, the learning curve is steep for me. I haven't been able to beat Vince yet.

Here's my question:

I notice that I can hit the ball by moving the stylus in a number of ways: upwards (towards the other side of the net), downwards (toward me), left to right, right to left, diagnolly upwards (toward upper right or upper left) or diagnolly downwards (toward lower right or lower left). I can't seem to figure out when one stroke is better than another. I find myself hitting the ball off the table often, even though a similar stroke worked beautifully minutes earlier. Has anyone figured out the pattern re: when one stroke is better than another?

Thanks,

Jeremy

I would say it has to do with where the ball hits on your half table.

If you see it hitting on the right side of the table, the you must hit the ball coming from the right to left. On the left side is the same technique. Like I say before, try not to rest the stylus on the LCD at all times. If you rest the stylus on the LCD your responds will be slower and inaccurate.

How you win?
I would say it has to do with the element of surprise. If you see the opponent racket on the left and hits on your left side then change direction to the right side. You have to be fast though. I would say this game if very close to the real game.

THE BUG:
I've seen that when the opponent's ball hits the net he/she gets a point. What the Heck?

I know, it looks hard but it is doable. I like the challenge.

I reported this bug last week sometime in the original news post.

There is also another one, you can sometimes (quite often if you know how ;) ) hook the ball towards you (so imagine getting your bat the other side of the incoming ball and hitting it into your body), the ball will disappear, and the point will be yours.

I still don't think the directional control is as clear cut as mentioned in the post above, you can be hitting the ball with as much left to right movement of the bat as you like and it will only go accross the table to the right about 1 out of 10 times.

Here's a strange one though - wait until the incoming shot is at the top of it's bounce, then quickly do an *up-down* swipe with the stylus. This very often seems to produce a very impressive top spin winning smash.

I would still appreciate some concrete instructions from the author though. It's quite fun "dicovering" the techniques but as we've seen here, the results don't seem to be consistent enought to prove if one method works or not.

Keep having fun though - I know I am!

And in case if anybody doesn't know, you can use JogWheel to go toward-and-backward the table.

PS ~ Yes, I'm level 7 right now. :D

So what exactly happen when you beat the game? Does it prompt that you're a winner and then you have to start everything over again? Is there any special stage hidden somewhere in the game?
