I recently have purchased both a n760c from ebay, and a nr70v at best buy. Now that me and my GF both have a clie we want to start using them for more than the solitare program. THe first thing we want to do is start organizing our school schedule. I have bits of paper with notes all over them, and I would like to use the clie's for what they were intended to do, improve my life. I am looking for the best student organizer. I would like one that has all sorts of bells and whistles, and would preffer one that allows me to set in a reminder date, so that I don't start a 10pg paper the night before its due. Also I suppose it should be easy to use, since my computer unfreindly GF wants to use it to. Any help here would be great. Thanks-dave

Also since I got my NR70V, I missed out on the video feature of the NX series. Is there a program out there yet that allows me turm mine into a video camera.

in my opinion i would go with due yesterday. i spent $20 on 4.0 student, and i ended up using due yesterday which is free, because it pretty much does all the same stuff for free, and i feel it has a nicer UI too.

Just to add to this, and I do agree with the UI part, 4.0 has also a web based subscription that is set up nicely.

I use 4.0 Student and I love it. It requires very few clicks to write down homework and other assignments. I have never used Due Yesterday so I have no way of comparing them. I suggest you try both if there is a demo 4.0 Student (I don't know if there is).

Also if you're the kind of person who has lots of appointments/meetings and such, datebook5 is also good. You can make Todo's with reminders and categories a lot like the screenshot in Due Yesterday.
I hear 4.0 and Due Yesterday work with datebook.
I think the main benefit of 4.0 and Due Yesterday are the grade tracking in addition to the assignment tracking.
I also have Documents To Go carry around the Syllabus and iSilo for webpages. Also handy is a good calculator. If you have a group project don't forget to get their contact info and store it into your Address Book.
I used to keep Avant-go with news to read in class when I got really bored. I found it best not to load games or I wouldn't have paid any attention at all.

I use 4.0Student. It is a great of keeping track of assignments. It can keep track of your grade in a class to amazing accuracy (when grading curve and weights are set), keep track of instructor contact info and class info, and export assignments to the ToDo and datebook databases. I export many of my assignments to the todo database. I can then set an alarm and advances on to those todos using Datebk5.

I just gave Due Yesterday a try on my NR70V, and it really started messing with some things. The display got garbled, kind of the same way a TV screen drifts too far to one side or the other, and what gets cut off ends up on the opposite side (not the same as the typical Hi-Res Assist problem, although I never tested that). It was a little worse than that, with letters getting garbled somewhat. This happened in all states, not just while running Due Yesterday, and a soft reset did not correct the problem. The good news is, I could see things well enough to delete Due Yesterday, which fixed the problem after a soft reset.

So here's my take on things. Due Yesterday, if you can get it to run properly, is probably the better app with the desktop software and being free. 4.0 Student is my personal choice, because it works on my machine. Both are nice, but not 100% necessary, pieces of software. I do suggest giving them a try.

WELL WE TRIED BOTH OF THE SOFTWARES AND WERE GOING WITH THE DUE YESTERDAY. It appears that the developer updates his program more often than the 4.0 software is updated, also it includes all the same features, even a few more. Its free which is always a good thing, there is even a manual you can print just incase you can't figure it all out, even though the GUI is developed alot better than the 4.0 demos. Also like the 4.0 software program you can do thngs on your desktop and send them to your palm, saving time when you input alot of class info. The advantage again to dy is that the desktop software is free. While it is not on the web like 4.0's, I still think that free outways the small advantage to being able to use it anywhere. As for the compatibility, I loaded it onto my nr70v and haven't had any difficulties. The best part of all is that my GF loves it and doesn't make me do it all, so the winner is definately Due Yesterday and its companion for the desktop
Thanks everyone for all your help, now if only there was a program that could write my esseys for me :-)

as a current engineering student, i use the following;

Due yesterday - great organizer for all the crap that i get assigned. It also has a place for contact info for all my profs, which is really sweet, and has a nice UI.

Easy Calc - A great calculator. Think of something around a TI-83. It does not allow you to do some calculus functions, but its still usefull

YAUC - Yet Another Unit Converter - Allows me to convert all those pesky units, like lbf into N, atm into kPa... and other usefull stuff like that.

Voodoo - creates a virtual voodoo doll. Really fun for all of those professors that assign too much homework

Bejewelled - Do I need to say more?

Dopewars - Hehehehe...
