Since last August, FreePalmTV (http://redoneill.free.fr/freepalmtv/) allows to get TV from the Freebox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freebox) via your computer and VLC from Videolan. The quality is good, you have to get your computer running at home and a good internet connection. Right now, only Coreplayer can play the data stream which you get through Wifi. FreePalmTV transcodes the video stream to MPEG1 and the audio stream to MP3, thanks to VLC.

Seeing this, I tried to get DVB-T TV running on my palm, from the DVB-T PCI card I got on my computer. The software I use for DVB is Winfast DTV, which has a timeshift functionnality. It records the DVB MPEG2 stream in a temporary folder, that you can read with VLC, transcode and send to the internet. The problem is that this process takes too much ressources for my Athlon XP 1800, so I got no more than one image per second on Coreplayer. Maybe a more recent computer can do better...

Another method is to use TSreader : This software will get the DVB MPEG2 stream and send it on the network after transcoding with a VLC plug-in. You get a good quality on your palm with Coreplayer, comparable to DivX video. But the problem here is that the free version of TSreader, TSreader lite, is limited to 1 minute playback. The pro version costs $ 100, a little too expensive for such a gadget...
