I use my UX50 constantly. My wife is looking to get a new cell phone. She tried a BlackBerry but all the features seem too dependant on online or network connectivity. What I want her to have is a smartphone that I can Bluetooth things like datebook entries, memos, etc. I am looking at the Treos and I like what I see. I know what the Palm OS Clie platform can do. I want her phone to also be able to play regular mp3s and watch videos. Does anyone have any opinions on Treos or some other recommendations? I appreciate any feedback.

Oh yeah, I don't want to have to pay monthly for extra network/internet/data service for the basic 'smart' features to work. She just needs air time and for all the other features to work on their own.

ixle,

I have a sprint Treo 750p and can connect to it by bluetooth to the UX50. No special driver is needed, even though the UX phone connect lists only standard GSM and Sprint is CDMA. Doesn't seem to matter. I have an unlimited data plan with sprint, by the way. The upshot is that there seems to be no problem with Sprint. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. My wife just ordered a Treo 680. It supposedly comes with Palm's Quick Install which I assume is an alternative to HotSync. My question is if you have had any issues with having the UX and Treo HotSyncing to the same computer. I have several profiles on my Palm Desktop now including a Fossil PDA and am hoping adding a Treo will be without incident.

I Bluetooth data and images beautifully between my UX50 and my Sony Ericsson K800i. I haven't tried exchanging contacts as I have a system that works much better for me - hotsync the UX50 with my laptop and also hotsync my K800i with my laptop - all my contacts are in all devices :)
