View Full Version : Customizing the Hard Buttons...
I downloaded ZLauncher because I supposed one could program the buttons to execute more specific apps than the four the Palm OS allows. For example, I'd like to press and hold to get four more apps; ^-press to get four more, etc. Is there any launcher that does that?
Thanks!

Looks neat, but I agree with the reviewer who said it needs to launch apps from the MS.
Thanks.

Sounds like what you really want is EasyLauncher. Its free, stable, easy, and works just like its supposed to.

That is what I use for launching 16 apps with the hard buttons (including press, press & hold, press & long hold, 2 button press). Since it's a hack, unfortunately, it may not work with OS5.
If you want to launch apps in MS with EasyLaunch hard button press, you need to put the apps in PiDirect. After enabling PiDirect you will see the apps in the EasyLaunch button assignment pick list. I assign StreetFinder and 1stAid to hard button this way. Haven't tried MSMount or PowerRUN, but I heard they work similar to PiDirect.

Check out 1 Button Pro at PalmGear--I believe you can assign as many as 9 functions per hard button. Also, TealLaunch (at PalmGear or tealpoint.com) can get you into some really "hard core" alternative launching methods! These apps both work in OS 5. I've tried them on my NX70, and they were fast and flawless--however, unless you are a Super Genius, you may need to read at least a portion of their manuals.
I believe that 1 Button Pro will launch from MS, but as I recall, TealLaunch does not.
