Partitioning a 4gb sd card

Is there an simple way to format a 4gb sd card into 2,2gb partitions without using the following...

Im testing to see if partitioning a sd card will make it faster, A good 1 gig of my 4 gig card is computer only programs. So if I partitioned 3:1 that would leave me with 1 gig less that the palm has to look at/for, thus making it faster.

And I had to solve the problem on the *using windows to partition your palms SD card* by myself, I will be making a post tomarow on how to do it.
