Hi guys, I was wondering if a DA exists which displays your current network setup (IP, Subnet mask, Gateway).

Hi guys, I was wondering if a DA exists which displays your current network setup (IP, Subnet mask, Gateway). Not that I've seen, and I think I've seen and tried the vast majority of extant DAs.

You can isee that info in the preferences app in the Network category, and you could try accessorizing it :-)

It is, and it works. Even the command mode (like ping and stuff) works.

If it's a Clie with silk-plugin support, I have a copy of the Clie NetMon silk-plugin you could use - It's meant for WiFi, but will display IP address details.
Unlike a DA you can use it while doing other stuff at the same time.

Lieees! :) you can use a DA over the running app. ;)
Taking longer than i thought. GCC doesn't eat my DA code well... Off to look for solution

Unlike a DA you can use it while doing other stuff at the same time. The whole idea of a DA is that you can pop it up over a running app. Exit the DA and you are back in the previous app where you left off.
The previous app is suspended, and resumes when you exit the DA, so this isn't multitasking.

Noo... you misunderstand me - With a DA, you can use the app you're in OR switch to the DA - While the DA is running, the app stops running.
For most things this isn't a problem.
Silk plugins run at the same time - You could play some network game over WiFi and the Clie NetMon Silkplugin would display your IP and how many packets have passed in real-time while you play - A DA can't do that.
Silk Plugins is another nifty Sony innovation that was brought to PalmOS, but it's a shame nobody took advantage of it. It was primarily for allowing different entry methods, and it's sad that companies like Fitali never used it, instead opting for some heavy overlay hack.
Palm devices don't have anything like it, although ironically they were talking about standarizing their VG area API towards the end because stuff would stop working with it every new generation ;)

Yeah, it's a neat idea, and it's a shame Palm didn't pick it up. But since Sony is out of the PDA business, unless you happen to have a Clie, the concept won't do you much good, and a DA is your best option.

Hi guys,
cygwin is completely screwed up at the moment... I spent all weekend yelling at it :) The code is done, just a matter of building.

Thanks!
Have a look to see if you have multiple copies of cygwin.dll in your system path. Thats usually why mne breaks :)
